Route
A representative from Travel Joy Egypt will pick you up beside the exit of Port Said port, holding a sign with your name. You will then be transferred by air-conditioned vehicle to Cairo, around a 3 hour drive with a comfort stop if needed.
Visit the Pyramids of Khufu, Khafre and Menkaure in Giza. Then see the Great Sphinx, the form of a pharaoh with a lion's body dating to Khafre's time. Also included is viewing the Valley Temple of Khafre. Continue to the Grand Egyptian Museum in Cairo housing artifacts from ancient Egypt. Over 250,000 genuine pieces are showcased including Tutankhamun's treasures of gold and jewelry sealed in his tomb for over 3,500 years until discovery in the 1920s. Enjoy lunch at a local eatery, then transfer to your Cairo hotel. Optional dinner cruise on the Nile or attend the Sound and Light show depicting Giza's history. Overnight in Cairo.
Begin with breakfast at the hotel. Then a private guide will drive your group to Alexandria in air-conditioned transport. Visit the Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa from early Roman times, uncovered after a 12 year search concluding in 1900. Next see the Qaitbay Citadel guarding Alexandria's eastern harbor, once home to the Lighthouse. Browse Alexandria Library before a lunch break. Later return to the port city of Alexandria for your cruise ship's departure.
