Itinerary
Upon arrival at Cairo International Airport, a representative from Travel Joy Egypt will greet you. Today you'll embark on a full-day guided sightseeing tour of some of Cairo's most famous landmarks. First is a visit to Giza to marvel at the iconic Great Pyramids of Giza – Khufu, Khafre and Menkaure. See the monumental statues of Sphinx up close and learn about their intriguing history. Next is the Valley Temple of Khafre to learn how ancient Egyptians prepared bodies for mummification. A delicious included lunch will be provided at a local restaurant. After refueling, the tour continues to the renowned Egyptian Museum. Browse through its extensive, priceless collection of artifacts dating back millennia. Don't miss the fascinating Tutankhamun exhibits preserving treasures from his tomb. Lastly, experience the bustling Khan El Khalili Bazaar, perfect for souvenirs. When the day of discovery concludes, you'll be transferred back to your hotel in Cairo. Meals Included: Breakfast Lunch
Begin the day with a nourishing breakfast at your Cairo hotel. Then set off on a guided sightseeing adventure to Alexandria, Egypt's second largest city, with an expert local Egyptologist. The first destination is the site of the ancient Library of Alexandria, once a pivotal center of scholarship. Next, enjoy an included lunch at a local eatery. Afterwards, tour the well-preserved Roman Amphitheater and admire its historic architecture. Nearby see the enduring Pompey's Pillar monument. Conclude at the remnants of the picturesque 15th century Sultan Qaitbay Citadel overlooking the sea. Later, return to Cairo either for another night or to commence your international flight home.
