Valley of the KingsDay 1: Luxor: West Bank Pharaohs to East Bank Temples
Your adventure begins with an early breakfast at your Aswan hotel before our representative escorts you to the train station for a comfortable ride to Luxor, the 'World's Greatest Open-Air Museum.' Upon arrival, our private Egyptologist guide will greet you, and your exploration of Luxor's West Bank will commence. We'll start at the legendary Valley of the Kings, a deeply significant necropolis where many New Kingdom pharaohs, including Tutankhamun, chose their eternal sleep. Next, prepare to be inspired by the Mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, an unprecedented architectural achievement carved into the cliffs of Deir el-Bahari. Before lunch, we'll pause at the Colossi of Memnon, two massive stone statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III that have stood sentinel for over three millennia. After a delightful lunch at a local restaurant, we cross the Nile to Luxor's East Bank for an immersive visit to the immense Karnak Temple Complex, an epic spiritual center dedicated to the Theban triad. Late afternoon, you'll be transferred to Luxor Airport for a domestic flight to Cairo. Upon arrival, you'll be chauffeured to your luxurious 5-star hotel for a relaxing evening.

Our expert guide will lead you to the magnificent Giza Plateau, home to the Great Pyramids and the Sphinx, enduring symbols of ancient Egyptian ingenuity. You'll have ample opportunity to marvel at these colossal structures, learn about their construction, and even venture inside one of the pyramids (time and ticket permitting). We'll also visit the enigmatic Sphinx and the adjacent Valley Temple of Khafre, where ancient mummification rituals may have taken place. Next, we journey into the heart of Egypt's archaeological treasures with a visit to either the world-renowned Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) or the classic Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square, depending on availability and your preference. Both house unparalleled collections, including the spectacular artifacts from Tutankhamun's tomb. A delicious lunch will be served at a restaurant with stunning views of the pyramids.
