Our exploration begins at the magnificent Qaitbay Citadel, an imposing fortress built in the 15th century using stones from the legendary Lighthouse of Alexandria, one of the ancient world's wonders. Next, we descend into the fascinating Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa, a unique necropolis showcasing a captivating fusion of Egyptian, Greek, and Roman funerary art. A delicious lunch awaits at a local Alexandria restaurant, followed by a visit to Pompey's Pillar, a towering Roman triumphal column dedicated to Emperor Diocletian.
