Day 1: Aswan City Tour - Aswan ONTravel Joy Egypt representative will receive you at Aswan airport/station and transfer you by private vehicle to your Nile cruise ship. Check-in before 12pm. After lunch onboard, you will visit High Dam built in 1960 by Gamal Abdel Nasser to protect from floods. Then a motorboat will take you to Temple of Philae from Graeco-Roman era dedicated to Isis. You will also see Unfinished Obelisk made of red granite for Amun Ra. After tours, return to ship. Night free in Aswan. Meals provided: Lunch, Dinner. Note: if arrival early, tours start immediately to avoid waiting at lobby before 12pm check-in.
Breakfast will be served onboard after which an Egyptologist guide will take you to Temple of Kom Ombo where Sobek and Haroeris were worshipped. Return to the ship for lunch on the sundeck overlooking the Nile landscape. Afternoon activities involve a chariot ride to Temple of Horus in Edfu considered one of Egypt's best preserved temples. Return to the ship for downtime. Dinner will be served followed by an on-board Egyptian folkloric show by staff. Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.
Breakfast will be served onboard the cruise. Then you will begin a magical tour of Thebes exploring the west Luxor bank including Valley of Kings, the royal cemetery where pharaohs were buried. Next is Temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir El Bahari, a wonderful ancient Egyptian architectural example carved inside a mountain. The tour ends at Colossi of Memnon belonging to King Amenhotep III before returning to the ship for lunch. Evening is free at leisure. Dinner and overnight onboard. Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.
Check-out will be after breakfast at 8am. Then you will enjoy a tour discovering the east Luxor bank including the immense Karnak Temples Complex occupying a hundred acres, considered the world's largest ancient construction. The lovely day finishes with Temple of Luxor built by a 12th dynasty king and completed by Ramesses II. After the day tour ends, a private vehicle will transfer you in Luxor where our services conclude. Meals included: Breakfast.
Day 1: Luxor East Bank - Luxor ONUpon arrival at Luxor airport/station, a Travel Joy Egypt representative will transfer you via private A/C van to your Nile cruise for check-in before 12pm. Afternoon discover the East Luxor bank including the immense Karnak Temples Complex, largest structures ever built dedicated to god Amun Ra since considered his earthly dwelling dating to the Middle Kingdom but references to 3rd dynasty. Proceed to Temple of Luxor built by a 12th dynasty king and completed by Ramesses II in ancient Thebes heart, also dedicated to Amun Ra. Return to the ship for evening refresh. An on-board Egyptian folkloric show by staff follows dinner and overnight stay in Luxor. Meals included: Lunch, Dinner. You will then return to the ship where lunch is served during the sail to Kom Ombo.Next, the Temple of Kom Ombo where gods Sobek and Haroeris were once worshipped will be explored. Back on the ship, enjoy your lunch while taking in views of the iconic Nile landscape from the sun deck. Civilization flourished along its banks in ancient times.Dinner will be served onboard during the journey to Aswan. Late evening will see arrival in Aswan followed by an overnight stay. Breakfast will be served onboard as you set out to discover Aswan with an Egyptologist guide. You'll visit The High Dam built in 1960 by Gamal Abdel Nasser to control Nile flooding. A motorboat ride along the Nile brings you to Agilika Island and Temple of Philae from the Graeco-Roman era dedicated to goddess Isis, mother of Horus. Conclude at The Unfinished Obelisk, a red granite monument for Amun Ra. Return to the ship for lunch and afternoon tea. Evening is free in Aswan. Dinner and overnight stay. Breakfast will be served after which a Travel Joy Egypt representative will accompany you to Aswan airport/station for your flight to Cairo.Optional Abu Simbel excursion: You'll be met by a guide in Aswan and transferred by private vehicle south to Abu Simbel located on the Nile's western bank. Upon arrival, the Abu Simbel temples built by Ramesses II will be visited including the larger Great Temple dedicated to Rahorakhty and the smaller one honoring King Ramesses and his wife Nefertari. After touring, drive back towards Aswan where you'll either check into a hotel to rest or transfer to the airport for a domestic flight to Cairo.Meals included: Breakfast.
