Discovering Luxor’s Treasures
This tour provides an excellent opportunity to discover Luxor’s greatest treasures in iconic sites along both banks of the Nile River. Visitors will be immersed in ancient Egyptian civilization at its glorious peak under the New Kingdom Pharaohs.
Karnak Temples
One of the first highlights is the expansive Karnak Temple complex, considered the largest place of worship ever built. Sprawling over nearly two square kilometers, Karnak features giant stone sphinxes and pylons, immense halls of columns, and obelisks among other wonders. Tourists will be stunned by its grand scale.
Luxor Temple
Next, the tour explores Luxor Temple situated on the east bank of the Nile. Much of its decoration and statues date back to the reign of Ramesses II. Visitors will admire its large pylons and statues depicting the king next to various gods. Its beauty reflects the refined architecture of the New Kingdom period.
Valley of the Kings
A highlight of the west bank is the timeless Valley of the Kings, where pharaohs were buried for nearly 500 years. Tourists will have the unique opportunity to venture inside three royal tombs and gaze upon hieroglyph-lined corridors and chambers filled with treasures. The exquisite wall paintings and carvings leave visitors in awe.
Colossi of Memnon
Nearby are the two large granite statues known as the Colossi of Memnon, all that remain of a large mortuary temple. Once over 18 meters tall, they still evoke power and mystery thanks to their sheer size and ageless appeal.
Hatshepsut Temple
Rising scenically from El Deir El Bahari’s cliffs is Hatshepsut Temple—one of Egypt’s architectural wonders and the only royal monument ever built for a female pharaoh. Visitors can admire its three layered terraces and detailed carvings depicting Hatshepsut’s divine conception.
Sailing on the Nile
The tour also includes a relaxing cruise down the Nile River aboard a traditional felucca sailboat. Tourists can observe rural Egyptian life along the riverbank and islands while appreciating the magic of sailing the waters between Luxor’s verdant fields.
The comprehensive Luxor experiences provided ensure visitors gain authentic and memorable insights into Egypt’s rich ancient history and culture.
