Next we journey to the enigmatic Sphinx, and nearby Valley Temple complex that once served the Fourth Dynasty pharaohs. Our guide will pick you up from your hotel after breakfast for the final day of sightseeing in the bustling capital. Our first port of call is the Citadel of Saladin, perched high on a hill and accessed via its scenic lunar landscape pathway. Constructed in the 12th century from limestone quarried from Giza, it offers panoramic Old Cairo views and a historical mosque complex.
Next we refuel with lunch before delving into the world's finest ancient Egyptian collection at the Egyptian Museum. Tutankhamun's treasures are a highlight, jewelry and colossal statues.
In the afternoon we travel back in time to experience Coptic Cairo's religious heritage.
