Day 1: Aswan City Tour - Aswan ONUpon arrival in Aswan, a representative from Travel Joy Egypt will meet you and transfer you by private air-conditioned van to your Nile cruise ship. Check-in before 12pm. Lunch will be served onboard.Next, you will visit the High Dam, built by former Egyptian president Gamal Abdel Nasser in 1960 to protect from Nile floods. Then a motor boat will take you to Philae Temple, erected in Graeco-Roman times and dedicated to goddess Isis. Lastly, the Unfinished Obelisk will be toured. Made of red granite, it was meant for god Amun Ra.The tour finishes and you return to the ship. The evening in Aswan is free time. Lunch and dinner included.Note: If arriving early, the tour may start upon arrival to avoid waiting, as check-in is at 12pm.
Breakfast will be served onboard the ship. Then an Egyptologist guide will take you to Kom Ombo Temple, where the gods Sobek and Haroeris were worshipped. Return to the ship for lunch on the sun deck overlooking the Nile landscape.Enjoy a chariot ride to Edfu Temple, considered one of Egypt's best preserved. After touring, return to the ship. Relax onboard in the afternoon. Dinner will be served, followed by an evening folkloric show by staff.Meals included: Breakfast Lunch Dinner
Breakfast will be served onboard the Nile cruise in Luxor. You will then begin a guided tour through Thebes' sacred west bank. This includes the Valley of the Kings, burial site of Theban rulers. Next is Hatshepsut's temple at Deir El Bahari, carved within a mountain, showing ancient Egyptian architecture. The tour ends at Memnon Colossi belonging to Amenhotep III. Afterward return to the ship for lunch. The afternoon is free time, followed by dinner and overnight onboard.Meals included: Breakfast Lunch Dinner
Breakfast will be served onboard at 8am. After check-out, a guided tour of Luxor's east bank visits the massive Karnak Temple complex, considered the world's largest at 100 acres. The tour finishes at Luxor Temple built by a 12th dynasty king and later added onto by Ramesses II. You'll then be transferred by private air-conditioned van to your Luxor destination, concluding services.Meals included: Breakfast
Day 1: Luxor East Bank - Luxor ONA representative will transfer you from Luxor airport/station to the Nile cruise by private air-conditioned van. Board by 12pm.You will then discover Luxor's east bank, including Karnak Complex - the largest structures ever built, with the earliest dating to the 3rd Dynasty. Principal buildings were for Amun Ra. Next is Luxor Temple, built by a 12th Dynasty king and completed by Ramesses II.Return to the ship to rest after the tour. An Egyptian folkloric show and dinner will be provided in the evening, with overnight in Luxor.If arrival is early, the tour may start immediately to avoid waiting until 12pm check-in.Meals included: Lunch Dinner
Breakfast will be served onboard the Nile cruise in Luxor. A guided tour of Luxor's west bank will then begin, exploring the sacred land of Thebes. Return to the ship, where lunch is provided sailing to Kom Ombo.You will visit Kom Ombo Temple, formerly worshipping Sobek and Haroeris. Return to the ship for lunch on the sun deck gazing over the Nile landscape and its ancient civilizations.Dinner is served onboard sailing to Aswan. Arrive in Aswan in the late evening for overnight stay.Meals included: Breakfast Lunch Dinner
Breakfast will be served onboard your ship in Aswan. Then an Egyptologist guide will take you to discover the city, starting with the High Dam built by Gamal Abdel Nasser in 1960 to control Nile flooding.You will enjoy a motorboat ride to Philae Temple on Agilika Island, erected in Greco-Roman times for goddess Isis. Check out after breakfast. A Travel Joy Egypt representative will then accompany you to Aswan airport/station for your flight to Cairo.Optional Tour:An English-speaking guide will pick you up in Aswan and transfer you by private air-conditioned van 180 miles south to Abu Simbel. Upon arrival, you will visit the Abu Simbel temples built by Ramesses II. This includes the larger temple dedicated to the god Rahorakhty, and the smaller one honoring Ramesses II and his wife Nefertari.Afterward, return travel to Aswan where you will either be taken to your chosen hotel to check-in and rest, or transferred directly to Aswan airport for a domestic flight to Cairo.Meals Included: Breakfast
