Day 1: Aswan City Tour - Aswan ON Upon arrival in Aswan, a representative from Travel Joy Egypt will transfer you by private air-conditioned van to the Nile cruise ship. Check-in before 12 pm. Lunch will be served onboard. Then a tour starting with a visit to the High Dam built in 1960 to control Nile flooding. Next there will be a motorboat ride to Philae Temple from the Greco-Roman era dedicated to Isis. Lastly a visit to the Unfinished Obelisk made of granite for Amun Ra. The tours will end with returning to the ship. Dinner will be onboard and the night in Aswan is for independent activities. Meals Included: Lunch Dinner
Breakfast will be served onboard the ship. Then an Egyptologist guide will take visitors to the magnificent Temple of Kom Ombo where the gods Sobek and Haroeris were once worshipped. Returning to the ship, lunch will be enjoyed on the sun deck with views of the river landscape. Afternoon activities include a chariot ride to the well-preserved Temple of Horus in Edfu. The tours will conclude with transfer back to the ship where the afternoon may be spent relaxing. Dinner will be served onboard followed in the evening by an Egyptian folklore show performed by the staff. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included.
Breakfast will be served onboard the ship. Then you will embark on a magical tour of Thebes exploring the west bank of Luxor. This includes the Valley of the Kings which served as the burial site for Theban kings and pharaohs. Next is a visit to Temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir El Bahari, considered a fine example of ancient Egyptian architecture due to being carved inside the mountain. The tour ends with Colossi of Memnon belonging to King Amenhotep III. After the sites you will return to the ship for lunch. The afternoon is free time until dinner served onboard, followed by an overnight stay on the cruise. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included.
After breakfast at 8am on the final day, check out from the cruise will take place. Then a tour of Luxor's east bank will be enjoyed. This includes a visit to the expansive Karnak Temples complex, considered the largest structure ever built. Next is Luxor Temple constructed by a 12th dynasty king and later finished by Ramesses II. Once the day tour ends, guests will be transferred by private air-conditioned van to their Luxor location, concluding the services provided by Travel Joy Egypt. Breakfast is included.
Day 1: Luxor East Bank - Luxor ON Upon arrival in Luxor via airport or station, a Travel Joy Egypt representative will transfer you via private air-conditioned van to board the Nile cruise before 12 pm. That afternoon you will discover the expansive Karnak Temples complex, considered the largest structures ever built dedicated to the god Amun Ra, with some parts dated to the 3rd dynasty. Then visit Luxor Temple constructed in the 12th dynasty and completed by Ramesses II, both located in ancient Thebes dedicated to Amun Ra. After finishing the day tours, transfer back to the ship for refreshments. In the evening a folkloric show by staff and dinner will be served, overnighting in Luxor. Should arrival be early, tours will commence straight away to make full use of time before check-in at 12 pm. Lunch and dinner are included.
Breakfast will be served onboard the cruise ship. Then a magical guided tour of Thebes' west bank including the Valley of the Kings, burial site of Theban rulers and pharaohs. Next is a visit to Hatshepsut's Temple at Deir el-Bahari, one of ancient Egypt's finest architectural works carved within a mountain. The tour finishes at the Colossi of Memnon statues of Amenhotep III. Upon returning to the ship, lunch will be provided. The afternoon is free time until an overnight dinner and stay onboard the cruise in Luxor. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included in the tour.
Breakfast will be served onboard followed by a guided tour to Edfu's Temple of Horus, one of Egypt's best preserved temples. Later you'll return to the ship where lunch will be provided during the sail to Kom Ombo. There the Temple of Kom Ombo will be explored, dedicated to Sobek and Haroeris. Back on the ship, enjoy views of the Nile from the sun deck. Dinner will be served onboard during the cruise to Aswan, where an evening arrival and overnight are scheduled. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included.
Breakfast will be served onboard the ship. Then join an Egyptologist guide discovering Aswan, including a visit to the High Dam constructed in 1960 by Gamal Abdel Nasser. There will be a motorboat ride along the Nile to Philae Temple on Agilkia Island from Greco-Roman times dedicated to Isis. Another highlight is the Unfinished Obelisk at the quarries, made for Amun Ra. After finishing the tours, return to the ship where lunch and afternoon tea will be provided. The evening in Aswan is free until dinner onboard followed by an overnight stay. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included.
After breakfast, check out of the cruise ship will take place. Then a representative will accompany guests to the Aswan airport or station to catch flights to Cairo. Optional Abu Simbel excursion: guests will be met with an English guide who will drive them by private air-conditioned van to Abu Simbel located south of Aswan. Upon arrival, visits to the two temples of Abu Simbel will take place - the Great Temple of Ramesses II dedicated to Ra-Horakhty, and the smaller temple dedicated to the King and his wife Queen Nefertari. After the guided tours conclude, the return drive to Aswan will take place. Guests can then transfer by private van either to their chosen Aswan hotel to check-in and rest, or directly to the Aswan airport to catch domestic flights to Cairo. Breakfast only is included, with this optional tour requiring additional payment. Transport will be by private vehicle and no deviations from the itinerary will occur.
