Sun Goddess Nile Cruise Itinerary
Program 1: Every Friday (4 Days / 3 Nights)
Day 1: Aswan City Tour - Aswan ONUpon arrival in Aswan, a representative from Travel Joy Egypt will greet you and transfer you by private vehicle to your cruise ship. Board the ship before 12pm. Lunch will be served onboard. Afterwards, you will visit the High Dam built by Gamal Abdel Nasser in 1960 to control flooding. Then a motorboat will take you to Philae Temple, constructed in the Greco-Roman period for Isis. You will also see the Unfinished Obelisk made of granite for Amun Ra. The tour ends with your return to the ship. Dinner and free time onboard in Aswan.Should you arrive early, the tour may begin upon arrival as check-in is at 12pm to make efficient use of time.Meals included: Lunch Dinner
Day 2: Kom Ombo - Edfu & ON
Breakfast will be served onboard the ship. Then you will join an Egyptologist guide to visit Kom Ombo Temple, where Sobek and Haroeris were worshipped. Return to the ship for lunch on the sundeck with views of the Nile landscape. Afternoon activities include a chariot ride to Edfu Temple, one of Egypt's best preserved temples, dedicated to Horus. The tour ends with the return to the ship. Relax onboard in the afternoon before dinner is served. In the evening, the staff will host an Egyptian folklore show.Meals included: Breakfast Lunch Dinner
Day 3: Luxor West Bank - Luxor ON
Breakfast will be served onboard the cruise in Luxor. Then begin a magical tour exploring Thebes' west bank including the Valley of the Kings, where Theban kings and Pharaohs were buried. Visit Hatshepsut Temple at Deir El Bahari, one of Egypt's finest architectural works carved within a mountain. The tour concludes with Colossi of Memnon belonging to Amenhotep III. Return to the ship for lunch. The afternoon is free time, followed by dinner and overnight onboard.Meals included: Breakfast Lunch Dinner
Day 4: Check Out - Luxor East Bank
Checkout will be after breakfast at 08:00 AM. Then discover the East Bank of Luxor including the vast Karnak Temples Complex, the world's largest construction covering 100 acres. Complete the tour at Luxor Temple built by a 12th dynasty king and later additions by Ramesses II. Upon finishing the day tour, Travel Joy Egypt services conclude as you are transferred by private vehicle to your Luxor destination.Meals included: Breakfast
Program 2: Every Monday (5 Days / 4 Nights)
Day 1: Luxor East Bank - Luxor ONUpon arrival in Luxor, a representative will transfer you via private vehicle to the Nile cruise. Board before 12pm. That afternoon discover the East Bank including the spectacular Karnak Temples Complex, the largest man-made structures housing the god Amun Ra since the Middle Kingdom. Proceed to Luxor Temple within the ancient city of Thebes, also dedicated to Amun Ra. Return to the ship for evening activities including a folklore show. Dinner is served with overnight onboard in Luxor.Should arrival time be early, the tour may commence immediately to make full use of time as check-in isn't until 12pm.Meals included: Lunch Dinner
Day 2: Luxor West Bank - Sail to Edfu & ON
Breakfast will be served onboard your ship in Luxor. Today's West Bank exploration includes a magical tour of Thebes visiting the Valley of the Kings royal burial site. Also make a stop at Hatshepsut Temple, a remarkably carved example within the mountainside. The tour concludes at the Colossi of Memnon statues. Return to the ship for lunch. The afternoon is for leisure time. Dinner and overnight continue on the cruise.Meals included: Breakfast Lunch Dinner
Day 3: Edfu - Kom Ombo - Sail to Aswan & ON
Breakfast is served onboard as your guide leads a tour of Edfu Temple, renowned for its preservation. Horus was worshipped here. Return to the ship where lunch is provided sailing towards Kom Ombo.Next, Kom Ombo Temple is explored; devoted to Sobek and Haroeris. Appreciate views from the sundeck during the cruise to Aswan down the Nile, birthplace of ancient Egyptian civilization. Dinner is served en-route, arriving in Aswan in the evening for overnighting.Meals included: Breakfast Lunch Dinner
Day 4: Aswan City Tour - Aswan ON
Breakfast will be served onboard while docked in Aswan. Later join an Egyptologist guide touring the city including the High Dam built by President Nasser in 1960 to regulate Nile flooding. Then a motorboat ride along the river to Agilika Island and the Graeco-Roman Temple of Philae dedicated to Isis. Visit the Unfinished Obelisk, carved from granite for Amun Ra. Return to the ship for lunch followed by afternoon tea. The evening in Aswan is free time with dinner and overnight onboard.Meals included: Breakfast Lunch Dinner
Day 5: Disembarkation from Cruise - Departure to Cairo
Checkout is after breakfast. Travel Joy Egypt's local representative will accompany you to Aswan airport or station for your return flight to Cairo.Optional tour: Enjoy an excursion to Abu Simbel by private vehicle or domestic flight for guided touring. Meet an English-speaking guide in Aswan and transfer to the temples of Abu Simbel located south of Aswan along the Nile in what was once Nubia. Explore the Great Temple of Ramses II and the smaller temple dedicated to himself and his wife Queen Nefertari. After completion return to Aswan for hotel accommodation before continuing your journey or taking the flight.Meals Included: Breakfast
