Day 1: Cairo airport - Cairo
When you arrive in Cairo via air, a representative from Travel Joy Egypt will greet you at the airport and help with your luggage. You will then be driven to the hotel where you will stay for the night in Cairo. At the hotel, the representative will assist with check-in and discuss your tour itinerary to confirm plans for the following day. Enjoy a complimentary welcome beverage and spend the rest of the day relaxing at your leisure.
Day 2: Giza Pyramids, Memphis, Sakkara
Start the day with breakfast at the hotel. Your English-speaking Egyptologist guide will then meet you to begin touring historic sites. The first stop is the Giza Pyramids complex to see the pyramids of Khufu, Khafre and Menkaure, overlooking by the Great Sphinx. A local restaurant provides lunch. Next is Sakkara to explore the Step Pyramid of King Djoser. The tour concludes at the open-air museum in Memphis containing monumental structures of King Ramses II. Return to your Cairo hotel for overnight accommodation.
Day 3: Egyptian Museum, Cairo Citadel, Khan El Khalili Market
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before your guide picks you up for another full day touring monuments in Cairo. The renowned Egyptian Museum houses incredible Pharaonic artifacts such as those of King Tutankhamen. Lunch is at a local eatery. Sights include the fortified Citadel of Saladin and the bustling Khan El Khalili bazaar. Return to your Cairo hotel for the evening.
Day 4: Flight to Aswan - Sightseeing
A buffet breakfast starts the day as you check out of the hotel. The representative transfers you to Cairo International Airport for the flight to beautiful Aswan. Upon arrival, an Egyptologist guide accompanies you to discover sites like the Aswan High Dam and Philae Temple on Agilkia Island. The tour concludes at the Unfinished Obelisk edifice before check-in at your Nile river cruise.
Day 5: Kom Ombo and Edfu Temples
Enjoy breakfast aboard the cruise boat before visiting the twin temples of Sobek and Horus at Kom Ombo while watching the scenic landscape. After lunch on the sundeck, take a horse carriage ride to the photogenic Temple of Horus at Edfu. Back on the ship, relax as it sails further south.
Day 6: Luxor West and East Bank Sights
After breakfast, explore tombs and temples on Luxor's famed West Bank including the Valley of the Kings and Queen Hatshepsut's temple. Reboard the ship for lunch then head to the East Bank's world-renowned Karnak Temple Complex and Temple of Luxor. Return to the cruise boat for dinner and an evening on the Nile.
Day 7: Transfer to Hurghada
A buffet breakfast is served on the last morning aboard the cruise. Then vehicles drive everyone south to Hurghada resort area, arriving in time for check-in at the beachfront hotel that will be your accommodation during the stay in Hurghada.
Day 8: Free day in Hurghada
Relax and recharge with a free day at the hotel along the Red Sea coast to enjoy optional aquatic activities or total leisure.
Day 9: Flight back to Cairo
Check out and get transported back to Hurghada Airport for the flight returning to the Egyptian capital city of Cairo. Upon arrival, you'll be driven to your hotel for overnight.
Day 10: Cairo airport departure
A delectable hotel breakfast prepares you for departure. A Travel Joy Egypt representative brings you to Cairo International Airport for your flight home after assisting with luggage. Egypt bids you farewell!
