Lunch will be served onboard the cruise.Next, you will visit the Abu Simbel Temples. Located on the west bank of the Nile between the first and second cataracts, Abu Simbel is one of Egypt's most iconic ancient sites. It features two temples carved into the mountainside during the reign of Pharaoh Ramesses II from 1303-1213 BC. In the 1960s, the temples were dismantled and relocated to higher ground due to the construction of the Aswan High Dam, which flooded their original location. After your awe-inspiring tour of the temples, you will relax with afternoon tea and refreshments onboard the cruise. Dinner will also be served onboard, where you will spend the night.Optional in the evening is a fascinating Sound and Light Show held at the Abu Simbel Temples. Once a formidable city situated high above the Nile River, Kasr Ibrim now appears as an island due to the construction of the Aswan High Dam. Lunch will be served onboard the cruise.Later, guests will join their guide for a visit to the Amada Temple. Originally built by Pharaoh Thutmose III of the 18th dynasty, the temple underwent additions and decorations during the reigns of his son Amenhotep II and successor Thutmose IV. Next, they will tour the Temple of Derr, a treasured example from the celebrated reign of Ramesses II and his preferred rock-cut architectural style. Finally, guests can explore the rare surviving rock-cut tomb of the Viceroy of Kush at Tomb of Pennut. Like the nearby temples, it was relocated due to the Aswan Dam's flooding of its original location.Following their day of tours, guests will return to the cruise where they can later attend a cocktail party and experience a traditional Nubian show. An early morning excursion will take them to Wadi El Seboua for an unforgettable experience, as this area is home to numerous relocated ancient sites. Wadi El Seboua contains two "New Kingdom" temples as well as the Temple of Dakka and Temple of Maharraqua. Most visitors dedicate a full day to explore these structures. Many begin at the famous "Valley of the Lions" avenue lined with sphinxes that leads to the older temple. Built by Amenhotep III, this rock-cut temple with intact brick pylon and courtyard/main hall is dedicated to the Nubian god Horus.Guests will enjoy lunch aboard the cruise before it sails to Aswan. Situated near the High Dam, Kalabsha Temple is a customary first stop for Lake Nasser cruises. Originally 30 miles south of its current location, the temple was moved here after construction of the dam flooded its former site. Commenced during the Ptolomaic Dynasty's reign and finished under Roman Emperor Augustus, Kalabsha Temple intriguingly merges Egyptian, Roman, and Nubian design with reliefs of both pharaohs and Romans worshipping the Nubian god Mandulis.Following the visit, guests will disembark from the cruise where a Travel Joy Egypt representative will reliably transfer them to their lodging in Aswan.Meals Included: Breakfast

In the afternoon, guests will join their Egyptologist guide to explore Aswan city highlights including the magnificent High Dam constructed under President Gamal Abdel Nasser in 1960 to control Nile flooding.They will cruise down the Nile by motorboat to Agilika Island to visit the Temple of Philae that was built in the Greco-Roman era and dedicated to goddess Isis, mother of Horus. One of Aswan's marvels also included is a tour of The Unfinished Obelisk, a massive red granite monument left unfinished for god Amun Ra.After an educational day of sightseeing, guests will return to the Nile Cruise onboard dinner and overnight accommodation.Meals Included: Lunch Dinner
