Your first meal onboard will be lunch. Next, a tour guide will take your group to visit the High Dam, built by Gamal Abdel Nasser in 1960 to control Nile flooding. Then you will take a motorboat to Philae Temple on Agilika Island, constructed during Greco-Roman period and dedicated to Isis. The last landmark is the Unfinished Obelisk, made of red granite for Amun Ra. After the tour concludes, you will return to the ship. The evening in Aswan is unscheduled. The afternoon tour discovers the vast East Bank complexes, including Karnak Temple - the largest religious structures in history. Constructed for the god Amun Ra, earliest parts date to the Middle Kingdom with references to the 3rd dynasty. Next is Luxor Temple within ancient Thebes, built by 12th dynasty rulers and finished by Ramesses II, like Karnak dedicated to Amun Ra. After the tour concludes, guests return to the ship for relaxation. In the evening a folkloric show will be on board before dinner and overnight in Luxor. Optional Tour: Tour Abu Simbel by private vehicle or domestic flight from Aswan. Upon arrival in Abu Simbel, an Egyptologist guide will escort the group to visit the two grandiose temples of Ramesses II - the massive Great Temple honoring Ra-Horakhty and the smaller one dedicated to Ramesses and Queen Nefertari. Following the completion of touring, return travel begins back towards Aswan for drop off at the selected hotel there or transfer to the airport. Meals Included: Breakfast
