Day 1: Welcome to Cairo!
Upon arrival at Cairo International Airport, a representative from Travel Joy Egypt will greet you and assist with any formalities upon arrival. You will then be escorted to meet your Egyptologist tour guide, who will accompany you on your first site visit - the iconic Giza Pyramids complex. Admire the three main pyramids of Khufu, Khafre and Menkaure up close, including the legendary Great Pyramid of Khufu. Take in the awe-inspiring views of the incredible Sphinx statue standing guard over the area. Afterwards, your guide will escort you to a local restaurant for a delicious included lunch. After refueling, continue on to Sakkara to explore and be amazed by King Djoser's revolutionary Step Pyramid, considered a pioneering architectural achievement when first erected. Your Egyptologist guide will give insights into its history and importance. Following the educational tour, you will be transferred to your chosen hotel in Cairo for check-in and an overnight stay.
Day 2: Luxor's West and East Banks
Begin your day with an included breakfast box from your Cairo hotel before checking out. Then, a Travel Joy Egypt representative will escort you to Cairo International Airport to assist with flight formalities and ensure you board your plane on time. Upon arrival at Luxor Airport, you will be greeted by another representative who will assist with any arrival procedures. From there, your private guided tour of Luxor's West Bank sites will commence, including the sobering Valley of the Kings royal burial site. Admire Queen Hatshepsut's skillful Deir el Bahari Temple architecture carved into the mountainside. Also see the photogenic Colossi of Memnon statues on this educational tour. An included, authentically local lunch will help refuel you mid-way. Afterwards, cross to Luxor's East Bank for a guided tour of the sprawling Karnak Temple complex, dedicated to the powerful god Amun-Ra and a true architectural wonder. Be in awe of Luxor Temple before checking into your selected Luxor hotel for the night.
Day 3: Journey North
Rise refreshed and fuel up with your included breakfast at the hotel. Then your guide will chauffeur you by private vehicle for a day trip out of Luxor. The first stop is the phenomenal Temple of Edfu, renowned for its grand façade and well-preserved shrine to the falcon god Horus. Continue onto Kom Ombo for fascinating insight into its double entrance design, with Sobek and Haroeris both honored inside. A local, included lunch will be provided in Aswan.
