Our first stop is the impeccably preserved Temple of Edfu, dedicated to the falcon god Horus. This Ptolemaic temple offers a unique insight into ancient temple rituals and mythology. We continue to the distinct Kom Ombo Temple, a 'double temple' unusually dedicated to two deities: Sobek, the crocodile god, and Haroeris, the falcon-headed god. Accompanied by your private guide, journey to these colossal rock-cut temples built by Ramses II. Marvel at the sheer scale and intricate details of the Great Temple, dedicated to Ramses himself, and the smaller Temple of Hathor, honoring his beloved queen Nefertari. These temples, famously relocated to save them from the rising waters of Lake Nasser, are an engineering and artistic triumph. After absorbing the magnificence of Abu Simbel, we'll return to Aswan for a delicious lunch and your overnight stay at the hotel.
