Valley of the KingsDay 1: Journey to Luxor: Pharaohs' Tombs & Temple Grandeur
Your adventure begins with an early pick-up from your Aswan hotel, heading to the train station for a smooth, first-class journey north to Luxor. Upon arrival in Luxor, known in antiquity as Thebes, your private Egyptologist guide will greet you, ready to unveil the wonders of this legendary city. Our first stop takes us to the West Bank, home to the most significant burial sites.
- Valley of the Kings — Descend into the heart of the Theban Necropolis and explore the Valley of the Kings, the hidden burial ground for Egypt's New Kingdom pharaohs. Your guide will illuminate the significance of its 63 known tombs, sharing insights into the elaborate funerary rituals and beliefs that shaped this sacred landscape. You'll have the opportunity to enter select tombs, admiring their vibrant hieroglyphics and ancient artistry.
- Temple of Hatshepsut — Continue to the majestic mortuary temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahari. This extraordinary tiered structure, carved directly into the cliffs, stands as a testament to one of Egypt's most powerful female pharaohs.
