Program 1: Every Friday (4 Days / 3 Nights)
Day 1: Aswan City Tour - Aswan ON Upon your arrival in Aswan on a Friday, a representative from Travel Joy Egypt will greet you and transfer you by private air-conditioned vehicle to the beautifully renovated Chateau Lafayette Nile Cruise ship for check-in before 12pm. You'll then enjoy lunch onboard as your cruise begins. In the afternoon, you'll disembark for some sightseeing. First is a visit to the High Dam, an engineering marvel constructed in 1960. Then, a motorboat will skillfully navigate to Philae Temple on Agilika Island, dedicated to the goddess Isis during Graeco-Roman times. Before returning to the ship, you'll stop to admire the immense Unfinished Obelisk, dedicated to Amun-Ra. Dinner will be served onboard as the evening is left free for your leisure in charming Aswan. Should your flight arrive much earlier, our team will happily begin tours directly to optimize your time. After lunch and dinner included, you can relax and soak in Aswan's beauty from the cruise's decks.
Day 2: Kom Ombo - Edfu & ON
The next day will begin with breakfast served onboard the cruise ship. Then, an Egyptologist tour guide will lead you to explore the Temple of Kom Ombo, an incredible structure dedicated to the worship of Sobek and Horoeris. Afterwandering through its halls and learning about its history, you'll return to the ship for lunch on the sun deck with views of rural Egypt drifting by along the Nile. Later, you'll take an exhilarating chariot ride to the Temple of Horus in Edfu, renowned for its magnificent preservation. Once your time at this icondic site has come to an end, it's back onboard to relax for the remainder of the afternoon on the deck or in your stateroom. Dinner will then be served as night falls and an Egyptian folkloric stage show by the staff begins for passenger entertainment. Meals on this day consist of breakfast, lunch and dinner onboard the Chateau Lafayette Nile Cruise.
Day 3: Luxor West Bank - Luxor ON
Breakfast will be served as you set sail towards Luxor. Here, a magical tour of western Thebes and its sacred lands awaits you. First up is the famed Valley of the Kings, where royalty of antiquity were entombed, allowing you to glimpse into ancient Egyptian burial traditions. Next is the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir el Bahari, a spectacular structure skillfully carved into the very mountainside. No visit to Luxor would be complete without admiring the towering Colossi of Memnon, all that remain of Amenhotep III's mortuary temple. After these remarkable sites, you'll reboard the cruise for lunch. The afternoon is for relaxation or independent exploration. Then dinner and another night of rest on the Nile await, taking in the tranquil surroundings as twilight falls upon the timeless river. Meals today are breakfast, lunch and dinner, all served onboard the Chateau Lafayette.
Day 4: Check Out - Luxor East Bank
On your final morning, breakfast will be provided prior to check-out at 8am. Travel Joy Egypt representatives will then guide you on a tour of Luxor's eastern side. First, you'll marvel at the Karnak Temples Complex, the largest religious structure ever created. Sprawling over 100 hectares, its preserved remains provide a glimpse into its former glory. Next is the Temple of Luxor, built by 12th Dynasty rulers and later added to by Ramesses II. After learning about its rich history, your Travel Joy Egypt services will conclude with a private transfer by air-conditioned van to your Luxor destination, where you will be free to continue independently exploring. This day's sole meal is breakfast to fuel you for your last adventures in Luxor before check-out from the Chateau Lafayette Nile Cruise. Program 2: Every Monday (5 Days / 4 Nights)
Day 1: Luxor East Bank - Luxor ON Upon arrival at Luxor's airport or train station on a Monday, a Travel Joy Egypt chaperone will politely greet you and escort you by private air-conditioned transportation to the awaiting Chateau Lafayette Nile Cruise for check-in before noon. After finishing boarding, you will embark on touring Luxor's eastern shore beginning with the stupendous Karnak Temple Complex, the ancient world's grandest construction endeavor dedicated to Amun-Ra since Predynastic Days. You'll follow your guide through its remains left from the 3rd Dynasty onwards. Next comes the Temple of Luxor established in the 12th Dynasty's reign and later augmented by Ramesses the Great, located at Thebes's heart like Karnak dedicated to Amun-Ra. Upon concluding sightseeing, refreshments will be provided back on board before dinner. If time permits earlier arrival, tours commence straightaway to optimize your experience. On your final morning, a hearty breakfast will be supplied onboard. Then, a Travel Joy Egypt representative will accompany you to Aswan's airport or station for your onwards travel. Should time allow, there is an optional excursion to Abu Simbel's awe-inspiring temples of Ramses II and Nefertari. By private van or domestic flight, our licensed guide will enlighten as you disembark at the temples built into the mountainside, marveling at their icons of antiquity against the desert backdrop. After fulfilling your cultural immersion, safe return transport is provided to Aswan for check-in at your resort or airport to fly to Cairo.
