Karnak Temple

Day 1: Luxor's East Bank Majesty & Cruise Embrace

Your adventure commences in Luxor, where your private Egyptologist guide greets you for a morning exploration of the East Bank. Our first stop is the overwhelming Karnak Temple Complex, a sprawling sacred city that evolved over two millennia, showcasing an incredible array of sanctuaries, pylons, and obelisks dedicated primarily to the Theban Triad. Imagine the priests and pharaohs who once walked these hallowed grounds. Following this profound experience, you'll board your luxurious 5-star Nile cruise ship to settle into your cabin and enjoy a delightful lunch. As dusk settles, we venture out to Luxor Temple, a magnificent structure that glows under the night sky, its colossal statues and intricate carvings telling tales of divine power and rejuvenation.

Valley of the Kings

After a hearty breakfast on board, we cross to Luxor's fabled West Bank, a realm of the afterlife for ancient pharaohs. Our journey takes us first to the Valley of the Kings, a labyrinth of rock-cut tombs where Egypt's New Kingdom rulers, including Tutankhamun, sought eternal rest. Here, vivid hieroglyphs and elaborate paintings adorn the burial chambers, offering a fascinating glimpse into ancient funerary beliefs. Next, we visit the Mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, a stunning example of New Kingdom architecture carved directly into the cliffs, testament to one of Egypt's most powerful female pharaohs. Our final stop before returning to the ship is the Colossi of Memnon, two massive stone statues of Amenhotep III, silent guardians of a long-vanished temple. Enjoy lunch back on board as your cruise begins its serene journey southward.

Following breakfast, your Egyptologist will guide you to our first stop, the magnificent Temple of Edfu, dedicated to the falcon god Horus. This is one of Egypt's best-preserved ancient temples, its detailed carvings and grand pylons offering an unparalleled insight into Ptolemaic religious architecture. A charming horse-drawn carriage ride adds to the authentic experience. We then return to the ship for a leisurely lunch as we continue sailing to Kom Ombo. Upon arrival, we disembark to explore the unique Temple of Kom Ombo, a 'double temple' dedicated to two deities: Sobek, the crocodile god, and Horus the Elder. Its unusual symmetrical design and Nilometer are particularly intriguing. We then continue our cruise towards Aswan, enjoying the scenic landscapes from the deck.

  • Temple of Edfu — Discover one of Egypt's most completely preserved ancient temples, dedicated to the falcon-headed god Horus.
  • Temple of Kom Ombo — Visit this unique double temple, symmetrically dedicated to two gods, Sobek and Horus the Elder.

Abu Simbel Temples

Today calls for an early start to experience one of Egypt's most awe-inspiring sites: Abu Simbel. After an early breakfast box, we embark on a comfortable overland journey by private air-conditioned vehicle to reach these colossal rock-cut temples, carved into the mountainside by Ramesses II. The Great Temple, dedicated to Ramesses II himself and the gods Ra-Horakhty, Amun, and Ptah, features four enormous seated pharaohs guarding its entrance. Nearby, the smaller temple honors his beloved queen Nefertari and the goddess Hathor. Marvel at the intricate details, the sheer scale, and the remarkable feat of engineering involved in relocating these temples to save them from the rising waters of Lake Nasser. We return to the cruise for a well-deserved lunch and a relaxing afternoon.

Day 5: Aswan's Ancient & Modern Marvels

Enjoy a final breakfast on board before checking out from your cruise ship. Today, we explore Aswan's fascinating sites. Our first destination is the Aswan High Dam, a modern engineering marvel whose construction created Lake Nasser, significantly impacting Egypt's agriculture and power generation. Next, we visit the Unfinished Obelisk, a monumental carving still embedded in its bedrock. This site offers an intriguing glimpse into ancient Egyptian stone-cutting techniques and the challenges they faced. After a delicious lunch at a local restaurant, we take a short boat ride to Philae Temple, relocated piece by piece to Agilkia Island to save it from flooding. Dedicated to the goddess Isis, its beautiful setting and stunning architecture create a truly magical experience. Your unforgettable journey concludes with a transfer to your hotel in Aswan or the airport.
