Day 1: Aswan City Tour - Aswan ON Upon arrival in Aswan, a representative from Travel Joy Egypt will greet you and transfer you by private vehicle to your cruise ship. Check-in before 12pm. You will have lunch onboard. Then you will visit the Aswan High Dam built in 1960 to control flooding. Next you will take a boat to the Temple of Philae, built in the Graeco-Roman era for the goddess Isis. Finally, you will see the Unfinished Obelisk made of granite for the god Amun Ra. After touring, return to the ship. Dinner onboard. Note that if arrival is early, touring will begin immediately to make full use of time. Meals included: Lunch, Dinner
Breakfast will be provided onboard the ship. Then an Egyptologist guide from Travel Joy Egypt will take you to visit the Temple of Kom Ombo, where the crocodile god Sobek and falcon god Haroeris were once worshipped. Return to the ship for lunch on the sun deck, taking in views of the Nile landscape. Afternoon activities involve a chariot ride to the well-preserved Temple of Horus in Edfu after which you return to the ship. Relax onboard in the afternoon. Dinner will be served onboard followed by an evening of Egyptian folkloric performances by the staff. Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
After breakfast onboard the cruise ship, you will begin your tour exploring the west bank of Luxor including the Valley of the Kings, where many pharaohs were buried in ancient times. Then you will visit the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir El Bahari, set within a mountain. The tour ends with seeing the Colossi of Memnon statues belonging to King Amenhotep III. Afterwards, return to the ship for lunch. Spend the afternoon at leisure. Dinner and overnight onboard the cruise. Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
After having breakfast at 8am, you will check out of the cruise ship. Then you will be taken on a tour of Luxor's east bank. This includes visiting the Karnak Temples Complex, considered the largest religious site ever built. Your tour finishes at Luxor Temple constructed by kings of the 12th Dynasty and later completed by Ramesses II. Once the day tour is complete, a private vehicle from Travel Joy Egypt will transfer you to your location in Luxor, where our services conclude. Meals included: Breakfast
Day 1: Luxor East Bank - Luxor ON Upon arrival in Luxor, a representative from Travel Joy Egypt will transfer you by private air-conditioned van to your Nile cruise ship. Board before 12pm. In the afternoon, you will discover the East Bank of Luxor including the enormous Karnak Temples Complex considered the largest religious structures built in history. Main buildings were made for god Amun Ra as the earthly house of god dating back to Egypt's Middle Kingdom though some parts originate in the 3rd Dynasty. Afterwards, visit Luxor Temple built by 12th Dynasty kings and finished by Ramesses II near Thebes dedicated to Amun Ra. After touring, return to the ship for leisure time. An Egyptian folklore show will be performed by staff in the evening followed by dinner onboard overnighting in Luxor. Note: touring will begin upon early arrival to make full use of time before 12pm check-in. Meals included: Lunch, Dinner
After the breakfast on board the Nile cruise ship, your magical tour of Thebes will begin. On Luxor's west bank, you will explore the Valley of the Kings, where ancient Egyptian pharaohs were laid to rest. Then visit the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir El Bahari, which is carved impressively into the mountainside. Your tour ends at the Colossi of Memnon statues belonging to King Amenhotep III. The group will return to the ship for lunch. The afternoon is free at leisure. Dinner and overnight stay on the cruise ship. Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
After breakfast onboard, your guide will take your group on a tour visiting the well-preserved Temple of Horus in Edfu. You will return to the ship where lunch will be provided as the cruise sails towards Kom Ombo. In the afternoon, you will disembark at Kom Ombo to visit the Temple dedicated to the gods Sobek and Haroeris before reboarding. Enjoy the view from the sun deck as the Nile landscape passes by. Understand how ancient Egyptian civilization flourished along its banks. Dinner will be served onboard during sailing to Aswan where the cruise arrives in the late evening. Overnight stay onboard. After breakfast onboard, your Egyptologist guide will take you to discover Aswan. This includes viewing the High Dam constructed in 1960 to control Nile flooding. A motorboat will sail to Philae Temple on Agilika Island, built for the goddess Isis during the Graeco-Roman era. The last site is the unfinished Obelisk at the northern quarries, carved from granite for god Amun Ra. Upon return to the cruise ship, lunch will be served. Afternoon tea is provided onboard. The evening in Aswan is free. Dinner and overnight stay on the cruise. Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
After breakfast, check out of the cruise ship. Our representative will take you to Aswan airport/station for your flight to Cairo. Optional Tour: A guide will drive you by private vehicle from Aswan to Abu Simbel, located south on the Nile's west bank. The temples were built during the reign of Ramesses II, with the Great Temple dedicated to the god Rahorakty and the smaller one honoring Ramesses and his wife Nefertari. After touring, you will be driven back to Aswan where the guide will either take you to a hotel to check-in for rest, or directly to the airport for your domestic flight connecting to Cairo.
