Itinerary
Day 1: Aswan City Tour - Aswan ON Upon arriving in Aswan, a Travel Joy Egypt representative will greet you and transfer by private air-conditioned vehicle to the luxury cruise ship M/S Nile Dolphin to check in before noon. Lunch will be served onboard. Then a tour visiting the High Dam built by Gamal Abdel Nasser in 1960 to protect from floods. A motorboat will take to Philae Temple from the Greco-Roman era dedicated to Isis. Another stop will be the Unfinished Obelisk made of granite for Amun Ra. The tour ends and guests return to the ship for the night in Aswan. If arrival is early, the tour starts right away to avoid waiting at check in time of 12pm. Meals: Lunch Dinner Note: Tour begins upon early arrival to utilize time until check in at noon.
Breakfast will be served onboard. Then an Egyptologist guide will lead visiting Kom Ombo Temple for Sobek and Haroeris gods. Return to the ship for lunch on the sun deck viewing the Nile landscape. An afternoon involves chariot riding to Edfu Temple, one of Egypt's best preserved, then back to the ship. Evenings offer relaxing onboard before a folkloric show and dinner. Breakfast is served onboard the Nile cruise. Next is a magical tour in Thebes exploring the west bank of Luxor including the Valley of the Kings royal cemetery and burial site of Pharaohs. The tour also visits Hatshepsut's Temple at Deir El Bahari, carved inside a mountain, before seeing the Colossi of Memnon belonging to Amenhotep III. Guests return to the ship for lunch, with free time in the afternoon ahead of dinner and overnight onboard. Meals: Breakfast Lunch Dinner
Checkout is at 08:00 after breakfast. A tour explores the iconic East Bank of Luxor led by Karnak Temples, the world's largest religious site. Luxor Temple, built by the 12th dynasty and later expanded by Ramses II, concludes the visit. Guests are then privately transferred to their Luxor destination where Travel Joy Egypt services conclude. Meals: Breakfast
Day 1: Luxor East Bank - Luxor ON Upon arrival in Luxor, a representative will transfer guests privately to the Nile cruise ship before 12:00 pm check-in. Afternoon discovers the extensive East Bank including Karnak Temples, largest religious structures featuring Amun Ra. Luxor Temple erected by 12th dynasty kings and later Ramses II inside ancient Thebes likewise honoring Amun Re concludes the tour. Guests return to the ship to relax before an Egyptian show from staff and dinner onboard in Luxor. If arrival occurs early, the tour starts immediately to make best use of time until 12:00 pm check-in. Meals: Lunch Dinner
Breakfast will be served onboard. Next starts a magical tour in Thebes exploring Luxor's west bank including the Valley of Kings royal cemetery. The tour also goes to Hatshepsut's Temple in Deir El Bahari, built within a mountain, before seeing the Colossi of Memnon belonging to King Amenhotep III. Upon return to the ship, lunch is provided during transit to Kom Ombo. Next involves exploring Kom Ombo Temple dedicated to Sobek and Haroeris gods. Back on the cruise, guests can relax on the sun deck admiring Nile scenery where Egyptian civilization developed. Dinner is provided en route to Aswan, arriving in the late evening to overnight. Breakfast will be onboard the ship. Later an Egyptologist guide explores Aswan including the High Dam built by Gamal Abdel Nasser in 1960 to regulate Nile flooding. Guests then board a motorboat to Agilkia Island and Philae Temple from the Greco-Roman age for goddess Isis. Another visit is the Unfinished Obelisk in red granite for Amun Ra. Upon returning to the ship, lunch is provided. Afternoon tea is available onboard ahead of a night free at leisure in Aswan followed by dinner and overnight stay. After breakfast checking out, a representative escorts guests to Aswan airport/station for their Cairo flight. Optional Tour: Tour visits Abu Simbel by private vehicle transfer or domestic flight. Upon arrival, the guide explores the impressive temples constructed under Ramses II including the Great Temple honoring Ra Horakhty and the smaller one for Ramses and Nefertari. After the tour concludes, transportation returns to Aswan where guests can check into a hotel for rest or transfer to the airport for flying to Cairo. Meals Included: Breakfast
