Once the world's largest metropolis until about 2250 BC, its remnants still whisper tales of its past grandeur. Following a delightful lunch at a local eatery, we venture onward to Dahshur, located some 40 kilometers southwest of Cairo. This significant necropolis is home to the monumental pyramids of King Sneferu (2613–2589 BC), father of Khufu. Here you'll discover the unique Bent Pyramid, a fascinating testament to early pyramid-building challenges, and its later, perfectly proportioned successor, the Red Pyramid – a true precursor to the Giza pyramids.
