Day 1: From Hurghada to Cairo: Pyramids and Pharaohs
Your adventure begins with a convenient early morning transfer from your Hurghada hotel to the airport for a short domestic flight to Cairo. Upon arrival, you'll be greeted by your expert Egyptologist guide, whose deep knowledge will bring Egypt's ancient past to life. Our first destination is the awe-inspiring Giza Plateau, home to the last standing wonder of the ancient world. Here, you'll marvel at the magnificent Great Pyramid of Khufu, a monumental testament to ancient engineering and belief, alongside the pyramids of Khafre and Menkaure. Prepare to be enchanted by the timeless allure of the Great Sphinx, a mythical creature carved from bedrock, forever guarding these royal tombs. We'll also explore the Valley Temple, a marvel of ancient architecture intricately linked with the mummification rituals of pharaoh Khafre. Enjoy a delicious lunch with a panoramic view of the pyramids or overlooking the Nile. After a delightful breakfast and hotel check-out, we set off on a captivating private tour to Alexandria, Egypt's 'Pearl of the Mediterranean.' Your Egyptologist will lead you through this historic port city, founded by Alexander the Great. Our first stop is the fascinating Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa, a unique blend of ancient Egyptian, Greek, and Roman funerary art. Next, we visit Pompey's Pillar, a towering Roman triumphal column that dominates the ancient Serapeum site. We'll then proceed to the formidable Citadel of Qaitbay, a 15th-century defensive fortress built on the very site of Alexandria's ancient lighthouse, offering stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea. Savor a fresh seafood lunch at a local restaurant. Our final highlight is the magnificent Bibliotheca Alexandrina, a modern architectural marvel commemorating the ancient Library of Alexandria and serving as a beacon of culture and knowledge. As the afternoon draws to a close, we transfer back to Cairo International Airport for your flight back to Hurghada, where our representative will meet you and transfer you comfortably to your hotel, concluding a memorable two-day exploration.
