Day 1: Aswan City Tour - Aswan ONUpon arrival in Aswan, a Travel Joy Egypt English-speaking representative will transfer guests by private vehicle to their Nile cruise ship. Check-in before 12 pm. Lunch will be served onboard. Then, a visit to the High Dam built in 1960 by Gamal Abdel Nasser to control Nile flooding. A motorboat ride on the Nile to the Temple of Philae built in the Graeco-Roman period dedicated to Isis. Tour the Unfinished Obelisk, a massive red granite form intended for Amun Ra. Return to the ship for the evening at leisure. Dinner is included. Early arrivals will start sightseeing directly to avoid delays awaiting check-in at 12 pm.
Onboard breakfast starts the day. Then an Egyptologist guide leads guests to the Temple of Kom Ombo where the gods Sobek and Haroeris were once worshipped. Return to the ship for lunch on the sun deck viewing the Nile landscape. Afternoon features chariot riding to the Temple of Horus in Edfu, one of Egypt's most well-preserved temples. The morning starts with breakfast onboard the Nile cruise. A tour of Thebes' magical west bank is next, exploring the Valley of the Kings where Theban rulers were laid to rest. Next is a visit to Hatshepsut's Temple at Deir El Bahari, an architectural wonder carved within the mountain. The tour concludes at the Colossi of Memnon statues of Amenhotep III. Check out after breakfast onboard at 8am. A tour of Luxor's east bank is then enjoyed, starting at the extensive Karnak Temple complex, considered the largest ever constructed. The day finishes with a visit to the Temple of Luxor built initially in the 12th dynasty and later completed by Ramesses II. Guests are then transferred by private vehicle to their Luxor accommodation, where services provided by Travel Joy Egypt conclude.Meals included: Breakfast

A representative then escorts guests to Aswan airport or station to catch their flight to Cairo.Optional Tour:An excursion to Abu Simbel temples is available either by private coach or domestic flight. Guests will be met in Aswan by an English-speaking guide for transfer by private air-conditioned van to Abu Simbel, located 180 miles south of Aswan. Upon arrival, a tour of the Abu Simbel temples built by Ramesses II commences, including the larger Great Temple dedicated to Ra-Horakhte and the smaller temple honoring Ramesses II and his wife Queen Nefertari. Afterwards, guests are driven back to Aswan where they can check into a chosen hotel or proceed directly to the airport for their flight to Cairo.Meals Included: Breakfast
