Our Egyptologist guide will pick you up from your hotel at 8:45am for a day exploring the treasures of Giza and Saqqara. Our first destination are the legendary Three Great Pyramids - Khufu, Khafre and Menkaure. Marvel at their colossal scale and exquisite precision before exploring the enigmatic Sphinx up close.
Next we visit the Valley Temple of Khafre, with its gigantic stone blocks and carvings speaking to a bygone era. Then it's onwards to Saqqara, home of King Djoser's Step Pyramid, regarded as the earliest monumental building in Egypt. Nearby you'll see rock-cut tombs adorned with vibrant reliefs preserved across millennia.
We continue to the extensive Saqqara complex which produces new discoveries still today. Lunch refuels our expedition as we travel to the Memphis Museum, home to treasures of King Ramses II including a regal colossus and alabaster Sphinx.
This evening we return relaxed to your hotel, nourished by discoveries at sites breathing life into Egypt’s distant past. Now an exclusive Nile dinner cruise awaits - a sensory experience aboard luxury boats while feasting on an international buffet with live entertainment under the blanket of stars. As the evening unfolds, be awed by Egypt's ageless allure on the river that shaped its very civilization. Your guide then returns you safely to your hotel for a good night’s rest.
Our guide will pick you up after breakfast for a full day of discovery. Our first stop is the formidable Citadel of Saladin stop its high vantage point, constructed using colossal limestone blocks from Giza in the 12th century. Wander its palaces and mosques before taking in the panoramic city views.
Next, we descend to the bustling streets for lunch at a local eatery. Then it's time to delve into Egypt's past at the Egyptian Museum, home to artefacts spanning pharaonic history including treasures from Tutankhamen's tomb.
This afternoon we travel to the spiritual heart of Coptic Cairo, rooted in Egypt's transition to Christianity. The Hanging Church of St. Mary marks this layered heritage, while the Coptic Museum illuminates early Coptic art forms. We also visit the Cave Church where the Holy Family once sheltered.
Our day culminates amongst the medieval laneways and artisans of Khan el-Khalili bazaar, witnessing traditional crafts still practiced today. After absorbing the urban rhythms, our guide safely returns you to your hotel filled with insights into Cairo's blended histories and acclaimed antiquities.
