Concerto Nile Cruise
Overview
Cruise Luxor to Aswan aboard the 5-star New-Norm Concerto. 4 & 5-day programs, pool, jacuzzi, spa, private guide. Full itinerary and prices from $745. Book now.
The Concerto Nile Cruise is a New-Norm-classified five-star ship sailing Luxor to Aswan, pairing top-tier luxury with Egypt's most iconic temples from $745.
The M/S Concerto carries 63 cabins and four suites and holds Egypt's elite New Norm (N/N) rating, a classification the Tourism Ministry reserves for vessels that match true international luxury standards. Two sailing patterns suit every schedule: a swift 4-day / 3-night program departing every Wednesday from Aswan, and an unhurried 5-day / 4-night voyage leaving every Saturday from Luxor. You settle into one cabin and let the river deliver you to the monuments of Upper Egypt.
Onboard, the Concerto is built for indulgence. A 140-seat restaurant serves buffet and set menus, while the panorama bar, lounge bar, and discotheque keep the evenings lively. The sun deck holds a swimming pool and jacuzzi, and a full spa with sauna, gym, massage, and jet shower awaits between excursions. A business centre, reading area, clinic, and 24-hour doctor round out the comforts.
Cabins feature openable panoramic windows, individually controlled air-conditioning, mini bar, LCD satellite TV, safe, and en-suite bathrooms with bathtub and hair dryer.
Ashore, an English-speaking Egyptologist guides you in small groups of just 1–8. Your itinerary covers the giants of the Nile: the Karnak and Luxor Temples, the Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut's terraced temple, the Ptolemaic Temple of Horus at Edfu, the twin sanctuaries of Kom Ombo, island-set Philae, and the High Dam at Aswan. Optional Abu Simbel, sunrise hot-air ballooning, felucca sailing, and a Nubian village visit add even more.
Sailing the Concerto with Travel Joy Egypt means honest pricing, private guiding, all entrance fees included, and complimentary airport, station, and hotel transfers in Luxor or Aswan. It is a superb pick for travelers who want certified five-star comfort and expert storytelling on the water. See our full collection of Nile cruises to compare ships and dates.

Itinerary

Karnak TempleDay 1 (5-Day) — Luxor: Karnak & Luxor Temples (East Bank)
Board the M/S Concerto before lunch in Luxor. In the afternoon your guide leads you into the vast Karnak Temple complex, more than 100 hectares of pylons, the Avenue of Ram-Headed Sphinxes, and the 134-column hypostyle hall. Continue to nearby Luxor Temple in the late-day light. Return for tea on the sun deck, then enjoy dinner and your first overnight moored in Luxor.

Valley of the KingsDay 2 (5-Day) — Luxor West Bank: Valley of the Kings & Hatshepsut, Sail to Esna
Cross to the West Bank for the Valley of the Kings, entering three royal tombs (Tutankhamun and Seti I optional), the terraced Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, and the Colossi of Memnon. An optional sunrise hot-air-balloon flight is available. After lunch on board, the Concerto sails south through the Esna lock toward Edfu. Dinner and overnight on the river.
Day 3 (5-Day) — Edfu & Kom Ombo Temples
A horse-drawn carriage carries you to the beautifully preserved Ptolemaic Temple of Horus at Edfu. Lunch is served as you sail to Kom Ombo, where the unusual double temple honors Sobek the crocodile god and Horus the Elder, with carved surgical instruments and a Crocodile Mummification Museum. Continue cruising toward Aswan with dinner and an overnight on board.

Philae TempleDay 4 (5-Day) — Aswan: High Dam, Philae & Nubian Charm
Morning visits include the High Dam with its views over Lake Nasser, the island Temple of Philae dedicated to Isis and rescued by UNESCO, and the Unfinished Obelisk, the largest ever attempted. Spend the afternoon at leisure, or add an optional felucca sail and a boat trip to a vibrant Nubian village. Dinner and overnight moored in Aswan.

Abu Simbel TemplesDay 5 (5-Day) — Aswan: Farewell & Optional Abu Simbel
After breakfast you disembark in Aswan. Travelers can add an early-morning excursion to Abu Simbel (by road or short flight) to see the colossal rock-cut temples of Ramses II and Queen Nefertari above Lake Nasser, relocated by UNESCO. Otherwise your Concerto cruise ends with a transfer to Aswan airport, station, or your hotel.

Unfinished ObeliskDay 1 (4-Day) — Aswan: High Dam, Philae & Unfinished Obelisk
Embark the Concerto before lunch in Aswan. Your afternoon takes in the High Dam and its panorama over Lake Nasser, a motorboat ride to the Temple of Philae on Agilkia Island sacred to Isis, and the Unfinished Obelisk in its ancient granite quarry. Return to the ship for dinner and an overnight in Aswan.

Abu Simbel TemplesDay 2 (4-Day) — Abu Simbel (optional) & Kom Ombo Temple
An optional pre-dawn excursion visits Abu Simbel and the temples of Ramses II and Nefertari. Back aboard, the ship sails north. In the afternoon you tour the Temple of Kom Ombo, dedicated jointly to Sobek and Horus, and inspect its crocodile-mummy museum. Dinner and overnight as the Concerto continues sailing toward Edfu.

Luxor TempleDay 3 (4-Day) — Edfu Temple & Luxor East Bank
Take a horse carriage to the Temple of Horus at Edfu, then sail on to Luxor. In the afternoon your guide reveals the great Karnak Temple complex and the elegant Luxor Temple. Dinner and overnight moored in Luxor.

Day 4 (4-Day) — Luxor West Bank & Disembarkation
After breakfast and check-out, cross to the West Bank for the Valley of the Kings with three royal tombs (Tutankhamun optional), the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, and the seated Colossi of Memnon. Your Concerto cruise concludes with a transfer to Luxor airport, train station, or your hotel.
