Itinerary

Karnak TempleDay 1 (5-Day) — Luxor: Karnak & Luxor Temples
Embark before lunch and settle into your panoramic cabin. The afternoon belongs to the East Bank: your Egyptologist leads you through the vast Karnak Temple Complex, covering more than 100 hectares, where the Avenue of Ram-Headed Sphinxes leads to the Great Hypostyle Hall and its 134 inscribed columns. You then visit Luxor Temple, glowing in the afternoon light, with its colossal statues of Ramses II. Enjoy tea on the sun deck before dinner and overnight aboard in Luxor.

Valley of the KingsDay 2 (5-Day) — Luxor West Bank: Valley of the Kings, then Sail to Esna
Cross to the West Bank for the Valley of the Kings, where three royal tombs cut into the Theban cliffs glow with afterlife scenes, the terraced Temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahari, and the towering Colossi of Memnon. An optional sunrise hot-air balloon over ancient Thebes can be arranged. Lunch is served as the ship sails south through the Esna Lock toward Edfu. Dinner and overnight sailing.
Day 3 (5-Day) — Edfu & Kom Ombo: Temples of Horus and Sobek
A horse-drawn carriage carries you to the Temple of Horus at Edfu, the most completely preserved temple of the Ptolemaic period, dedicated to the falcon-headed god. Lunch is served as you sail to Kom Ombo, a rare symmetrical temple honoring Sobek the crocodile god and Horus the Elder, with carvings of medical instruments and a crocodile mummification museum. Dinner and overnight sailing onward to Aswan.

Philae TempleDay 4 (5-Day) — Aswan: Philae Temple, High Dam & Unfinished Obelisk
Begin at the Aswan High Dam with its panoramic views over Lake Nasser, then take a boat to the island Temple of Philae on Agilkia Island, sacred to Isis and relocated stone-by-stone in a celebrated UNESCO rescue. Visit the colossal Unfinished Obelisk in its granite quarry. The afternoon is free for leisure, an optional felucca sail, or a colorful Nubian village visit. Dinner and overnight in Aswan.

Abu Simbel TemplesDay 5 (5-Day) — Aswan: Farewell & Optional Abu Simbel
Enjoy a final breakfast aboard before disembarking in Aswan. Travelers with extra time can add an early-morning excursion to Abu Simbel, the monumental rock-cut temples of Ramses II and Queen Nefertari carved into a sandstone cliff facing Lake Nasser. Your Travel Joy Egypt representative assists with your onward transfer to the airport, your hotel, or your next destination.

Unfinished ObeliskDay 1 (4-Day) — Aswan: High Dam, Philae & Unfinished Obelisk
Embark before lunch in Aswan and ease into life on the river. The afternoon tour visits the Aswan High Dam with its sweeping views of Lake Nasser, the romantic island Temple of Philae reached by boat and dedicated to the goddess Isis, and the Unfinished Obelisk lying in its ancient granite quarry. Return aboard for dinner and your first overnight moored in Aswan.

Abu Simbel TemplesDay 2 (4-Day) — Kom Ombo: Temple of Sobek & Horus (Optional Abu Simbel)
Early risers may add the optional excursion to Abu Simbel to see the rock-cut temples of Ramses II and Nefertari. The ship then sails to Kom Ombo, where a unique twin temple honors Sobek the crocodile god and Horus the Elder, with exhibits including mummified crocodiles. Lunch and dinner are served aboard as the ship continues sailing toward Edfu overnight.

Luxor TempleDay 3 (4-Day) — Edfu & Luxor: Temple of Horus and East Bank
A horse carriage takes you to the Temple of Horus at Edfu, one of the best-preserved temples in Egypt. Lunch is served as you sail on to Luxor. In the afternoon you explore the immense Karnak Temple Complex dedicated to Amun-Re, then Luxor Temple glowing at golden hour with its giant statues, obelisks, and illuminated courtyard. Dinner and overnight moored in Luxor.

Day 4 (4-Day) — Luxor West Bank & Disembarkation
After breakfast and check-out, cross to the West Bank for the finale: the Valley of the Kings with three royal tombs and an optional visit to Tutankhamun's tomb, the striking limestone Temple of Queen Hatshepsut honoring Egypt's powerful female pharaoh, and the imposing Colossi of Memnon. Your guide then assists with your onward transfer, closing a memorable voyage along the Nile.
