Itinerary

Giza PyramidsDay 1: Alexandria Port Pickup, the Giza Pyramids & the Sphinx
Your private Egyptologist guide greets you as you step off the ship at Alexandria Port, and a comfortable air-conditioned vehicle whisks you toward Cairo along the desert highway, roughly a three-hour drive. Your first stop is the Giza Plateau, where the Great Pyramid of Khufu, built more than 4,500 years ago, rises against the sky as the last surviving wonder of the ancient world. On this private guided tour you'll circle all three pyramids, pause at a panoramic viewpoint ideal for photographs, and stand before the enigmatic Great Sphinx with its lion's body and pharaoh's face. Your guide brings the pharaohs, pyramid-building techniques and burial rituals vividly to life. After a relaxed lunch at a local Egyptian restaurant, you'll transfer to your Cairo hotel to unwind, leaving tomorrow free for the city's treasures.
- Giza Pyramids — The three great pyramids of Khufu, Khafre and Menkaure on the Giza Plateau, the only surviving wonder of the ancient world.
- Great Sphinx — The colossal limestone guardian with a lion's body and a pharaoh's head, carved during the reign of Khafre.

Khan el-Khalili BazaarDay 2: Egyptian Museum, the Citadel, Khan el-Khalili & Port Said Drop-off
After breakfast at your hotel, your private guided tour resumes at the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square, home to the world's greatest collection of pharaonic treasures, including the dazzling golden mask of Tutankhamun and halls of mummies, statues and papyri. Next you'll ascend to the Salah El-Din Citadel, the medieval fortress crowning Cairo, and step inside the alabaster Mosque of Muhammad Ali for sweeping views across the minarets and rooftops of the capital. A savory Egyptian lunch follows, and then you'll wander the atmospheric lanes of Khan el-Khalili, Cairo's centuries-old bazaar, where the scent of spices mingles with stalls of silver, brass, perfume and handmade souvenirs, perfect for last-minute treasures. As the day winds down, your driver takes the coastal road to Port Said, delivering you back to your ship in good time for departure.
