Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Cairo and orientating tour
Upon arrival at Cairo International Airport, a representative from Travel Joy Egypt will greet you and assist with arrival formalities. You'll be escorted to your 5-star hotel in a private, air-conditioned vehicle. That evening, enjoy a downtown dinner cruise on the Nile River with authentic Egyptian entertainment. Overnight in Cairo.
Giza PyramidsDay 2: Pyramids of Giza and Grand Egyptian Museum
After breakfast, your private guide will take you to Giza to marvel at the iconic Pyramids of Khufu, Khafre and Menkaure, as well as the Sphinx. Next, experience the Grand Egyptian Museum's treasures before lunch. Afterward, the Grand Egyptian Museum houses invaluable artifacts. Return to your Cairo hotel in the evening.
Day 3: Journey to Fayoum and El Minya
Travel west to Fayoum and tour its highlights like Lake Qaroun and Fayoum Waterfalls. Stop for lunch. Continue northeast to El Minya and check into your 5-star hotel for the night.
Day 4: Sites around El Minya
Visit the cemeteries of Tuna El Gabal, then Ashmunein and its colossal baboons. Conclude the day touring Beni Hassan's Middle Kingdom tombs before returning to El Minya.
Day 5: Tel El Amarna and Assiut
Journey north to the ancient capital at Tel El Amarna, founded by Akhenaten. Lunch in Assiut then tour the Muharraq Monastery and village of Meir. Overnight in Abydos.
Day 6: Abydos Temple and Dendera
See the Abydos Temple's cartouche-filled walls, and receive lunch. Proceed to Dendera Temple, goddess Hathor's home. Continue travel west to check into your Luxor hotel.
Karnak TempleDay 7: Karnak and Luxor Temples
Spend the morning at Karnak Temple Complex before embarking on a deluxe Nile cruise ship. In the evening, see Luxor Temple lit up at night. Dinner and overnight onboard.
Day 8: West Bank highlights
Your Egyptologist guide shows the Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut Temple, and Colossi of Memnon. Return to the cruise ship for lunch, dinner and more nights onboard.
Day 9: Temples in Edfu and Kom Ombo
Visit the temples of Edfu and Kom Ombo before returning to the cruise ship. Dinner and another night onboard sailing north.
Abu Simbel TemplesDay 10: Abu Simbel Sun Temples
Journey to Abu Simbel for an early start. Spend the morning marveling at Ramses II's iconic temples carved into the mountainside. Lunch and dinner onboard the returning cruise ship.
Day 11: Tour Aswan’s highlights
Visit the High Dam, Unfinished Obelisk, and Philae Temple island complex. After lunch, transfer to the airport for your flight to Cairo where your hotel awaits one last overnight.
Day 12: Departure from Cairo
After breakfast and hotel check out, a driver will escort you to Cairo International Airport for your homeward flight, concluding your Egyptian adventure.
