Spend the day with your private guide inside Fez, the country's centre of learning and craft. After a local lunch you look down on the Chouara Tanneries from a terrace, stop at the Nejjarine Fountain and wander the lanes of Fes el-Bali, the largest car-free medina in the world. Today is mainly a road day, travelling south by private vehicle from Fez to Marrakech. Your driver pauses along the route so you can stretch your legs, take photographs and enjoy lunch before the final stretch. You arrive in the Red City in time to check in and rest before the onward journey to Egypt.

After breakfast your guide takes you on a short Marrakech visit before the journey to Egypt. After a local lunch you finish at the Grand Egyptian Museum, where the Tutankhamun collection is displayed in full. You return to your Cairo hotel for a second night.

After lunch at a seafront restaurant you see Pompey's Pillar and the underground Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa, then drive back to Cairo for the night.

Head south from Amman with your driver to Madaba, where the Greek Orthodox church of St George keeps a Byzantine floor mosaic that charts the Holy Land. After lunch at a local restaurant you drive on to Petra and check in for the night.

In the afternoon you travel to Wadi Rum, where dinner is served in the desert and you spend the night.
