Itinerary

Valley of the KingsDay 1: From Red Sea Sands to Ancient Theban Grandeur
Your ultimate Luxor adventure begins with a private, air-conditioned transfer from your El Gouna hotel. Relax as we journey through the desert landscape, arriving in Luxor, the former capital of Upper Egypt and a treasure trove of ancient wonders. Our first explorations take us to the storied West Bank, the 'City of the Dead,' where pharaohs sought eternal rest. We then transition to the East Bank for an impressive encounter with the largest religious complex ever built, before a comfortable return to El Gouna.
- Valley of the Kings — Our first stop is the legendary Valley of the Kings, nestled deep within the Theban Necropolis. Here, beneath the stark desert cliffs, lie the rock-cut tombs of New Kingdom pharaohs – including the boy king Tutankhamun – each a vibrant canvas of hieroglyphs and paintings designed to guide the deceased to the afterlife. Your guide will illuminate the symbolism and stories hidden within these fascinating burial chambers.
- Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut (Deir el-Bahari) — Next, we visit the truly unique Mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut. This dazzling structure, a testament to her power and architectural ambition, rises in a series of terraces against the dramatic backdrop of Deir el-Bahari cliffs. Learn about this remarkable female pharaoh who ruled as a king, and admire the temple's elegant design and surviving reliefs.
- Colossi of Memnon — En route, we pause at the Colossi of Memnon, two enormous stone statues depicting Pharaoh Amenhotep III. These towering sentinels have stood for over three millennia, once guarding the entrance to his now-vanished mortuary temple. Marvel at their sheer scale and hear the intriguing tales, including the 'singing' phenomenon that captivated ancient Roman travelers.
- Nile River Crossing & Lunch — After our West Bank discoveries, we'll enjoy a relaxing interlude, often involving a scenic boat ride across the Nile, leading to a delightful lunch experience at a local restaurant. Savor Egyptian cuisine while taking in the views of the life-giving river.
- Karnak Temple Complex — Our final major exploration brings us to Karnak, an awe-inspiring 'forested' complex of temples, chapels, and pylons. Karnak isn't just one temple, but a vast sacred city that evolved over two millennia, dedicated primarily to the Theban Triad of Amun, Mut, and Khonsu. Wander through the massive Hypostyle Hall with its 134 towering columns, explore the sacred lake, and imagine the rituals that once unfolded in this unparalleled monument to ancient Egyptian faith and power.
