MS Salacia Nile cruise
Overview
Cruise Luxor to Aswan on the all-suite MS Salacia, just 59 guests. 4 or 5-day programs, spa, pool and private temple tours. From $680 per person.
Sail the Nile in all-suite comfort aboard the boutique MS Salacia, a 59-guest cruiser with a near 1:1 crew ratio, spa, pool and expert-led temple tours.
The MS Salacia Nile Cruise stands apart for sheer space per guest. Completely refitted to an all-suite layout, it carries just 59 travelers across five decks — so no comparable vessel on the river offers more room to unwind. Stateroom and Royal suites span roughly 21 and 28 square meters and frame the passing banks through two full-size windows, while the Master Suite stretches to a generous 65 square meters with its own lounge and dining area.
Pick the pace that fits. The 4-day / 3-night program departs Aswan every Friday; the 5-day / 4-night program leaves Luxor every Monday, adding time for the West Bank and Aswan’s Nubian color. Either way you sail the classic corridor — Luxor, Edfu, Kom Ombo and Aswan — tracing Karnak’s Great Hypostyle Hall, the falcon temple of Horus at Edfu, the twin sanctuary at Kom Ombo and the island temple of Philae.
Onboard, the Palm Court Restaurant and Oasis Lounge anchor the dining and evening shows, the Temple Spa adds sauna, jacuzzi and massage, and the Lido Terrace pool crowns the sundeck. Full-board meals, free Wi-Fi, a daily restocked minibar, room and laundry service, a gift shop and a 24-hour doctor are all part of the experience.
Our licensed Egyptologists make every relief and ritual come alive, and optional extras — a dawn hot-air balloon over Thebes, the rock temples of Abu Simbel, a Nubian village call or a felucca sail — let you shape the trip. Browse the full fleet of Nile cruises, then book with Travel Joy Egypt for seamless transfers and rates that undercut the competition.

Itinerary

Karnak TempleDay 1 (5-Day) — Luxor: Karnak & Luxor Temples
Embark the MS Salacia before lunch and settle into your suite. The afternoon opens at Karnak, the largest religious complex of the ancient world, where the Great Hypostyle Hall raises 134 inscribed columns toward the sky. Continue to Luxor Temple in the warm late light to admire its colossal statues, obelisk and the Sphinx Avenue that once linked it to Karnak. Return for dinner and an overnight moored in Luxor.

Day 2 (5-Day) — Luxor West Bank & Sail to Esna
Cross to the Theban West Bank for three painted tombs in the Valley of the Kings, with optional entry to Tutankhamun or Seti I. Visit the terraced Temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahari and the seated Colossi of Memnon. An optional dawn hot-air balloon adds a sweeping view of ancient Thebes. After lunch the ship sails south through the Esna Lock, with dinner and overnight underway toward Edfu.
Day 3 (5-Day) — Edfu Temple of Horus & Kom Ombo
Travel by horse-drawn carriage to the Temple of Horus at Edfu, the most completely preserved temple of the ancient world, its walls carved with the myth of Horus and Seth. Lunch is served as you cruise to Kom Ombo, where the mirror-image temple is shared by Sobek the crocodile god and Horus the Elder. View the carved surgical instruments and the Crocodile Mummification Museum, then sail on toward Aswan with dinner and overnight on board.

Unfinished ObeliskDay 4 (5-Day) — Aswan: High Dam, Philae & Unfinished Obelisk
Tour the High Dam and its panoramas over Lake Nasser, then take a motorboat to the island Temple of Philae, sacred to Isis and rescued stone by stone by UNESCO. At the ancient granite quarries, study the colossal Unfinished Obelisk still locked in the bedrock. The afternoon is free for an optional felucca sail or a colorful Nubian village visit. Dinner and overnight are moored in Aswan.

Abu Simbel TemplesDay 5 (5-Day) — Aswan: Optional Abu Simbel & Disembarkation
Enjoy a final breakfast and disembark in Aswan. Many travelers add an early excursion to Abu Simbel, where the rock-cut temples of Ramses II and Queen Nefertari face the rising sun above Lake Nasser. Relocated in a landmark UNESCO rescue, they form an unforgettable close to the voyage. We arrange transfer by road or short flight and coordinate your onward journey from Aswan.

Unfinished ObeliskDay 1 (4-Day) — Aswan: High Dam, Philae & Unfinished Obelisk
Board the MS Salacia before lunch and settle into your suite. The afternoon tour begins at the High Dam, the modern marvel that tames the Nile and shapes Lake Nasser, then crosses by motorboat to the romantic island Temple of Philae, dedicated to the goddess Isis. At the granite quarries, view the immense Unfinished Obelisk lying where it cracked thousands of years ago. Dinner and overnight are spent moored in Aswan.

Abu Simbel TemplesDay 2 (4-Day) — Optional Abu Simbel & Kom Ombo Temple
An optional dawn excursion reaches Abu Simbel, where the colossal temples of Ramses II and Nefertari were relocated above the rising lake. Back aboard, the ship sails north to Kom Ombo for the twin temple shared by Sobek the crocodile god and Horus the Elder, with its striking medical reliefs and mummified crocodiles. Dinner and overnight follow as you continue sailing toward Edfu.

Luxor TempleDay 3 (4-Day) — Edfu Temple & Luxor East Bank
A horse carriage carries you to the Temple of Horus at Edfu, among the best-preserved sanctuaries in Egypt, its reliefs vivid with the battle of Horus and Seth. Lunch is served as you cruise to Luxor. In the late afternoon, explore Karnak's colossal statues and Great Hypostyle Hall, then nearby Luxor Temple in the golden hour, with its lit courtyard, obelisk and giant statues. Dinner and overnight are moored in Luxor.

Day 4 (4-Day) — Luxor West Bank & Disembarkation
After breakfast and check-out, cross to the West Bank for the grand finale. Descend into the painted royal tombs of the Valley of the Kings, then visit the elegant terraced Temple of Queen Hatshepsut set against the limestone cliffs. Pause at the Colossi of Memnon, the two seated giants of Amenhotep III, before we coordinate your transfer and onward travel from Luxor.
