Itinerary
Karnak TempleYou join the Radamis II in Luxor and settle into your cabin before lunch. In the afternoon your Egyptologist guides you across the East Bank to the Karnak Temple Complex. You walk the Avenue of Ram-Headed Sphinxes first, then reach the Great Hypostyle Hall, where 134 inscribed columns stand. Luxor Temple comes next, and the Radamis II stays moored in Luxor overnight.
The day starts on the West Bank. Your Valley of the Kings visit includes 3 painted royal tombs, followed by Queen Hatshepsut's temple at Deir el-Bahari and a stop at the Colossi of Memnon. You can add entry to Tutankhamun's tomb or the tomb of Seti I as optional extras, along with a dawn hot-air balloon flight over Luxor. After the visits, the Radamis II heads south, passes through the Esna Lock and continues toward Edfu.
In Edfu, a horse-drawn carriage takes you to the Temple of Horus. The Radamis II then continues to Kom Ombo, where you visit the twin temple of Sobek and Horus the Elder.
Unfinished ObeliskYou see the High Dam first, then cross by motorboat to Philae, the island temple of Isis that UNESCO rescued stone by stone. The Unfinished Obelisk, still lying in the granite quarries, comes last. The afternoon is free, or you can add a felucca sail or a Nubian village visit.
Abu Simbel TemplesAfter breakfast you disembark in Aswan, and we organise a transfer to the airport, the train station or your hotel. On request, you can add an early Abu Simbel excursion on this last morning.
Unfinished ObeliskYou board the Radamis II in Aswan before lunch. Your first visits are the High Dam, Philae Temple and the Unfinished Obelisk in the granite quarries.
Abu Simbel TemplesEarly risers can add a dawn trip to Abu Simbel as an optional extra. The Radamis II then continues to Kom Ombo and its twin temple of Sobek and Horus the Elder.
Karnak TempleEdfu and its Temple of Horus come first, then the Radamis II sails to Luxor. In the late afternoon you visit the Karnak Temple Complex and Luxor Temple on the East Bank.
Your last day is on the West Bank, with 3 painted royal tombs in the Valley of the Kings, Queen Hatshepsut's temple at Deir el-Bahari and the Colossi of Memnon. Entry to Tutankhamun's tomb is an optional extra. You then disembark in Luxor.
