Giza PyramidsA Travel Joy Egypt representative welcomes you at Cairo Airport, or at your Cairo hotel, and your Egyptologist guide takes you to the Giza Plateau. You walk among the pyramids of Khufu, Khafre and Menkaure and stop at the Great Sphinx. Lunch is included. Afterwards you return to your Cairo hotel for the night.
Breakfast comes as a box, so you can eat on the way to the domestic flight from Cairo to Luxor. A representative meets you on arrival. On the West Bank you see the Valley of the Kings, Deir el Bahari with Hatshepsut's temple, and the Colossi of Memnon, then stop for lunch, which is included. In the afternoon you cross to the East Bank for Karnak Temple, dedicated to Amun-Ra, and Luxor Temple. You spend the night at your hotel in Luxor.
You travel south by private vehicle, leaving Luxor for the Temple of Edfu, known for its grand façade and its shrine to the falcon god Horus. Kom Ombo Temple comes next on the way to Aswan, where lunch is included. In the afternoon you visit the Aswan High Dam, then take a boat to Philae Island for the Ptolemaic-era Temple of Isis. You spend the night at your hotel in Aswan.
Abu Simbel TemplesBreakfast comes as a box for the early start. Your guide and private vehicle take you from Aswan to Abu Simbel. At the site you visit the Great Temple of Ramesses II and the smaller temple built for Nefertari. After the temples you return to Aswan and board the flight to Cairo with help from a Travel Joy Egypt associate. A representative meets you in Cairo, where you spend your last night.
The Grand Egyptian MuseumThe last day starts at the Grand Egyptian Museum, where the galleries tell the story of the pharaohs and include King Tut's treasures. After the included lunch, you visit the Citadel of Salah El-Din and browse Khan El Khalili, before your driver takes you to Cairo Airport for your departure flight. International flights are not part of the package.
