This four-day, three-night Nile sailing aboard the MS Acamar runs from Aswan to Luxor, giving an unhurried but fully guided look at Upper Egypt's temples and tombs. You sleep on board every night, so the ship is your hotel, your restaurant and your front-row seat on the river.
Day 1 covers Aswan's landmarks, the Aswan High Dam, the Unfinished Obelisk and the island temple of Philae, before you check in to the ship and spend the first night moored in Aswan. On Day 2 the MS Acamar sails north to Kom Ombo's temple, uniquely shared between the crocodile god Sobek and the falcon-headed Horus, and on to the well-preserved Temple of Edfu, dedicated to Horus, with the second night spent on board as the ship sails on towards Luxor.
Day 3 brings you to Luxor for Karnak Temple and Luxor Temple on the East Bank, with the third night on board in Luxor. On the final morning you check out after breakfast and visit the West Bank, the Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut's Mortuary Temple and the Colossi of Memnon.
A fluent Egyptologist guide, speaking English, French or Spanish on request, accompanies the group throughout, and the cruise covers local taxes and government fees, pickup and drop-off service, air-conditioned transfers, entrance fees to every site visited, and three nights' full-board accommodation aboard the ship. Domestic airfare within Egypt, gratuities for guides, drivers and cruise staff, and any optional excursion are not included.

Itinerary
Your adventure begins in Aswan, where our private Egyptologist guide greets you. We start with a visit to the impressive Aswan High Dam, a testament to 20th-century engineering. Next, we explore the Unfinished Obelisk, offering a captivating glimpse into ancient stone-cutting methods. Our final Aswan stop is the breathtaking Philae Temple, dedicated to the revered goddess Isis, a site relocated stone by stone to its current island sanctuary. Afterward, you'll be transferred to the elegant MS Acamar Nile cruise ship to check in and enjoy a delightful open buffet lunch. The rest of the afternoon is yours to settle into your cabin, relax on deck and watch the Nile light change over Aswan. The ship stays moored in Aswan tonight, so you enjoy dinner on board and spend your first overnight on board in Aswan, before the MS Acamar sails north in the morning.

Wake to a delicious breakfast on board as the MS Acamar casts off and sails north along the Nile, with the desert and the green farmland sliding past the deck. Late in the morning we dock at Kom Ombo, where you'll disembark for a guided tour of the unique Temple of Kom Ombo, dedicated to two deities, Sobek and Horus. Its dual design and well-preserved reliefs are truly captivating. Return to the ship for lunch while we continue downriver to Edfu. In the late afternoon, as the light softens, your guide leads you through the magnificent Temple of Edfu, one of the best-preserved temples in Egypt, dedicated to the falcon-headed god Horus. Its towering pylons and intricate reliefs tell stories of divine kingship and cosmic battles. Back on board, enjoy dinner and spend your second overnight on board as the ship sails on towards Luxor.

Later, we explore Luxor Temple, beautifully illuminated as dusk falls, connected to Karnak by the ancient Avenue of Sphinxes. Return to the ship for dinner and spend your third and final overnight on board, moored in Luxor, with the West Bank still ahead of you in the morning.

Next, we visit the Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut, a remarkable multi-tiered structure built into the cliffs, celebrating Egypt's formidable female ruler. Before the tour ends, we pause at the colossal statues of Memnon, silent sentinels of a forgotten temple. Your guide and driver then take you back across the river to your Luxor hotel, the airport or the railway station for your onward journey, and your Nile odyssey comes to a close.
