This four-day, three-night Nile sailing aboard the MS Tulip runs from Aswan to Luxor, a relaxed way to see Upper Egypt's headline temples with every night spent on board.
The cruise opens in Aswan with the Aswan High Dam, a look at the Unfinished Obelisk in its ancient quarry and Philae Temple, and you sleep on board in Aswan on the first night. The second day sails north to Kom Ombo's double temple, before a traditional horse-drawn carriage ride on the third morning to the Temple of Horus at Edfu, one of Egypt's most intact ancient monuments.
The ship then reaches Luxor, where you spend the third night on board, and the final morning is given to Luxor's West Bank: the Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut's Mortuary Temple and the Colossi of Memnon. After a leisurely breakfast on board, the MS Tulip casts off from Aswan and begins her journey north along the Nile, past palm groves, farmland and timeless riverside villages. Around midday we reach Kom Ombo, where you step ashore with your guide to explore the distinctive 'double temple' dedicated to Sobek and Horus, with its perfectly mirrored sanctuaries standing high above the river. Return to the cruise for a delightful lunch on board, then spend the afternoon at your leisure on the sun deck as the ship sails on through the golden light. Dinner is served on board, followed by a peaceful night's sailing towards Edfu. You sleep on board the MS Tulip again tonight, between Kom Ombo and Edfu.
