Does the Tour Include a Nile Cruise?
No, this tour has no Nile cruise. On Day 3 a boat trip on the Nile takes you to an island for lunch, and on Day 4 a private air-conditioned vehicle takes you from Luxor to Aswan, with stops at the temples of Edfu and Kom Ombo. If sleeping on a boat is the point of your trip, a Nile cruise will suit you better than this tour.
How the Abu Simbel Day Works
Day 5 of this 7 days Egypt tour package is the Abu Simbel day. You leave early with breakfast boxes and your private guide, visit the Great Temple of Ramses II and the smaller Temple of Hathor, and return to Aswan for lunch. Our Abu Simbel temples visitor guide covers the tickets and the temples in more detail.

UNESCO lists Abu Simbel and Philae together as the Nubian Monuments from Abu Simbel to Philae. An international campaign launched by UNESCO between 1960 and 1980 saved both sites from the rising Nile. You visit Philae on Day 6, so the week covers both.
Is 7 Days Enough, and Who Is It For?
Yes, for the main sites of Giza, Luxor, Aswan and Abu Simbel. Day 1 is for arriving and Day 7 for leaving, so the sightseeing runs from Day 2 to Day 6. A week is also the short end of the 7 to 10 days that most travellers need to see the essentials without rushing.
The tour suits couples, families and first-time visitors who want a private guide and vehicle instead of a group. Days 2 and 3 are full: Giza, the Grand Egyptian Museum and a flight on Day 2, then the West Bank, a Nile boat trip and Karnak on Day 3.

Giza PyramidsThe Giza Plateau opens the day, with your private Egyptologist showing you the Great Pyramid of Khufu, the Valley Temple and the Great Sphinx. The Grand Egyptian Museum closes your Cairo sightseeing. After lunch, a private transfer takes you to Cairo Airport for the domestic flight to Luxor, where you spend the night.
- Giza Pyramids Complex — Stand in awe of the ancient world's only remaining wonder, the Pyramids of Giza, built over 4,500 years ago as eternal resting places for pharaohs.
- The Great Sphinx — Encounter the enigmatic guardian of the Giza Plateau, a mythical creature with the body of a lion and the head of a human, carved from a single massive limestone outcrop.
- Valley Temple — Explore the well-preserved Valley Temple of Khafre, an integral part of the pyramid complex, used for the mummification rituals of the pharaoh.
- Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) — Immerse yourself in the world's largest archaeological museum, housing an unparalleled collection of ancient Egyptian artifacts, including the complete Tutankhamun collection.

Valley of the KingsOn the West Bank you visit the Valley of the Kings, burial ground of the New Kingdom pharaohs, along with the Temple of Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon. A Nile boat trip follows, with lunch on an island. Karnak Temple Complex is next, and you return to your Luxor hotel at the end of the day.
- Valley of the Kings — Explore the desert crypts of pharaohs like Tutankhamun and Ramses II, adorned with vibrant hieroglyphs and ancient texts.
- Temple of Hatshepsut — Discover the unique architecture of Queen Hatshepsut's multi-tiered funerary temple, a testament to her reign.
- Colossi of Memnon — Photostop at the imposing twin statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III, silent sentinels guarding the plains of Thebes.
- Karnak Temple Complex — Wander through the colossal pylons, courtyards, and the awe-inspiring Great Hypostyle Hall of Karnak, a complex built by generations of pharaohs.

A private air-conditioned vehicle takes you south from Luxor, with 2 temple stops on the way. At Edfu you see the temple of Horus, the falcon god. Kom Ombo is a double temple shared by the crocodile god Sobek and the falcon-headed Haroeris. You then continue to Aswan and spend the night there.
- Edfu Temple — Step back in time at this incredibly well-preserved Ptolemaic temple, offering a vivid depiction of ancient Egyptian religious practices dedicated to Horus.
- Kom Ombo Temple — Visit the unique double temple dedicated to two gods, Sobek and Horus the Elder, with symmetrical halls and fascinating reliefs depicting medical instruments.

Abu Simbel TemplesYou leave early with breakfast boxes and your private guide for Abu Simbel, where you visit the Great Temple of Ramses II and the smaller Temple of Hathor, which honours Nefertari. After the temples you return to Aswan for lunch and another night at your hotel.
- Abu Simbel Temples — Witness the awe-inspiring rock-cut temples of Ramses II and Nefertari, a monumental tribute to ancient power and devotion, spectacularly preserved and meticulously relocated.

Philae TempleThe Aswan High Dam starts the day. A motorboat then takes you to Philae Temple, dedicated to Isis, which now stands on Agilkia Island. Afterwards a private transfer takes you to Aswan Airport for the domestic flight to Cairo, where another private transfer brings you to your hotel for the last night.
- Aswan High Dam — Visit the monumental dam that tamed the Nile, providing hydroelectric power and irrigation, and forming the vast Lake Nasser.
- Philae Temple — Discover the exquisite temple complex dedicated to the goddess Isis, beautifully relocated to Agilkia Island and accessible by motorboat.
After breakfast at the hotel, our representative takes you to Cairo International Airport by private transfer and helps with your departure formalities.
