Overview

Journey for 9 days through the heart of ancient Egypt and Turkey with Travel Joy Egypt.

This tour, sold as a nine-day route, pairs Egypt's Nile Valley sites with a continuation to Turkey that takes in Cappadocia, moving from Cairo through Aswan, Abu Simbel and Luxor before the trip carries on abroad.

The Egypt segment opens with the Giza Pyramid Complex, the Grand Egyptian Museum and Saqqara's Step Pyramid, plus a Nile dinner cruise under the stars on arrival, then a flight south to Aswan for the Aswan High Dam, the Unfinished Obelisk and Philae Temple on Agilkia Island.

An early excursion reaches Abu Simbel's rock-cut temples before the tour continues to Luxor by a first-class train from Aswan, covering the Karnak Temple Complex, the Valley of the Kings and Hatshepsut's terraced temple on both banks. From Egypt the itinerary continues on to Turkey and Cappadocia, named in the tour's own title, for the region beyond the Nile Valley.

An Egyptologist guide leads the Egypt portion, and the package includes accommodation with daily breakfast in Cairo, Aswan and Luxor, domestic Cairo-Aswan and Luxor-Cairo flights, the first-class Aswan-Luxor train, private air-conditioned ground transfers, bottled water during tours, and entrance fees to every site named in the Egypt itinerary. International flights, the Egyptian entry visa, meals beyond those specified, gratuities and optional activities are not included.
