Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Cairo & Nile Dinner Cruise
Your Egypt adventure begins the moment you land in Cairo, where your private Travel Joy representative greets you at the airport and guides you smoothly through arrival formalities. After settling into your hotel and unwinding for a while, the evening holds a memorable welcome: a leisurely dinner cruise gliding along the Nile. As the city's lights shimmer across the water, you savor a buffet of Egyptian and international dishes while traditional entertainment, perhaps a whirling tanoura dancer or live oud music, fills the deck. It is an unhurried, atmospheric introduction to the rhythm of Cairo and the timeless river that shaped this civilization. Your Egyptologist is on hand to outline the days ahead, answer your questions, and set the tone for a journey through Egypt's ancient wonders. Tonight you rest in comfort, ready for the pyramids at dawn.
- Nile Dinner Cruise — A relaxed evening sail on the Nile with a buffet dinner and live Egyptian entertainment.

Giza PyramidsDay 2: Face to Face with the Pyramids of Giza
This morning you come face to face with the last surviving wonder of the ancient world on a private guided tour of the Giza Pyramids Complex. Standing before the Great Pyramid of Khufu, you grasp the sheer scale of a monument raised more than 4,500 years ago, then meet the enigmatic gaze of the Great Sphinx and step inside the granite-pillared Valley Temple. Nearby, the magnificent Grand Egyptian Museum awaits, its galleries showcasing Tutankhamun's complete treasures and towering royal statues in a setting purpose-built beside the plateau. After lunch you continue to Saqqara to admire the Step Pyramid of Djoser, the world's oldest stone monument and the blueprint for everything that followed. Throughout the day your Egyptologist brings the hieroglyphs and history vividly to life. You return to your Cairo hotel as the desert sun sinks behind the pyramids.
- Giza Pyramids Complex — The iconic plateau home to the three great pyramids of Giza.
- The Great Pyramid of Khufu — The largest of the pyramids and the only surviving ancient wonder of the world.
- The Great Sphinx — The colossal lion-bodied guardian with a pharaoh's face.
- The Valley Temple — A well-preserved granite temple linked to Khafre's pyramid.
- The Grand Egyptian Museum — The vast new museum beside the plateau, home to Tutankhamun's full collection.
- Saqqara Step Pyramid — The Step Pyramid of Djoser, the earliest large-scale stone monument in Egypt.

Unfinished ObeliskDay 3: Aswan's Dam, Obelisk & Temple of Isis
After breakfast you catch a short domestic flight south to Aswan, Egypt's most tranquil city, where the Nile flows wide and blue between granite islands. Your private tour begins at the Aswan High Dam, the monumental 1960s engineering feat that tamed the river's floods and created the vast expanse of Lake Nasser. Close by, you visit the Unfinished Obelisk, still lying in its ancient granite quarry; had it been completed it would have been the largest obelisk ever raised, and its abandoned form reveals exactly how pharaonic stonemasons worked. In the afternoon a short motorboat carries you across the water to the graceful Philae Temple, dedicated to the goddess Isis and painstakingly relocated stone by stone to Agilkia Island to save it from the rising lake. As the light softens over the Nile, you settle into your Aswan hotel for the night.
- Aswan The High Dam — The great modern dam that controls the Nile and formed Lake Nasser.
- The Unfinished Obelisk — A colossal abandoned obelisk still attached to the bedrock of its ancient quarry.
- Philae Temple — The elegant island temple of Isis, relocated to Agilkia Island.

Abu Simbel TemplesDay 4: The Colossal Temples of Abu Simbel
An early start rewards you with one of Egypt's most breathtaking sights. You journey south across the desert to the temples of Abu Simbel, the colossal rock-cut sanctuaries carved for Ramses II more than 3,200 years ago. Four giant seated figures of the pharaoh guard the facade of the Great Temple, while the smaller temple honors his beloved queen, Nefertari. Inside, vividly carved reliefs recount Ramses' victories and divine kinship, and you learn how the entire complex was famously cut apart and lifted to higher ground in the 1960s to escape the waters of Lake Nasser. With your private Egyptologist guide, you have ample time to absorb the grandeur before the return journey. Later you transfer north to Luxor, the greatest open-air museum of the ancient world, arriving in time to rest ahead of tomorrow's temples. Tonight you sleep in Luxor.

Karnak TempleDay 5: Luxor's East & West Banks
Luxor, ancient Thebes, unfolds across both banks of the Nile on this unforgettable day of private guided touring. On the East Bank you enter the vast Karnak Temple, wandering its Great Hypostyle Hall where 134 colossal columns rise like a stone forest. Crossing to the West Bank, the realm of the dead, you descend into the painted burial chambers of the Valley of the Kings, resting place of Tutankhamun and Ramses among some sixty royal tombs. You then marvel at the elegant terraces of the Temple of Hatshepsut, dedicated to Egypt's most powerful female pharaoh and set dramatically against golden cliffs, and pause before the towering Colossi of Memnon, two weathered guardians that have watched over the plain for millennia. In the evening you board a short flight back to Cairo, where a comfortable hotel awaits. Overnight in Cairo.
- Karnak Temple — The immense temple complex of Amun-Ra with its famous hypostyle hall.
- Hatshepsut Temple — The dramatic terraced mortuary temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahari.
- Valley of the Kings — The royal necropolis whose rock-cut tombs include that of Tutankhamun.

At the striking National Museum of Egyptian Civilization you meet the Royal Mummies in their purpose-built hall. Continuing to Mount Nebo, you stand where Moses is said to have gazed upon the Promised Land, taking in sweeping views across the Jordan Valley toward Jericho and, on clear days, Jerusalem. After lunch you descend to the lowest point on Earth, the mineral-rich Dead Sea, more than 400 meters below sea level.
