Giza PyramidsDay 2: Pyramids, Museums & Flight to Luxor
Following a delightful breakfast, your expert Egyptologist guide will lead you to Giza's awe-inspiring wonders. Explore the legendary Giza Pyramid Complex, home to the three main pyramids of Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure, along with their smaller satellite pyramids. Stand before the majestic Great Sphinx, a mythical guardian carved from a single limestone outcrop. Then, journey to the Valley Temple, integral to the ancient pharaoh's funerary rites.
- Giza Pyramid Complex — Witness the only remaining wonder of the ancient world, an architectural feat of immense scale and precision. Your guide will illuminate the history and purpose of these monumental tombs.
- Great Sphinx — Behold the iconic Sphinx, an enigmatic creature with the body of a lion and the head of a pharaoh, shrouded in mystery and legend.
- Valley Temple — Discover the ancient mummification and purification rituals that took place in this well-preserved temple, part of the pharaoh's burial complex.
- Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) or Egyptian Museum — After a local lunch, we'll visit either the new, state-of-the-art Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) or the established Egyptian Museum in Tahrir. Both house unparalleled collections showcasing thousands of years of Egyptian history, including the treasures of Tutankhamun. Your guide will ensure an accessible and insightful experience tailored to the museum open on your visit date. Later, transfer to Cairo Airport for your flight to Luxor. Upon arrival, you'll be met and transferred to your 5-star hotel in Luxor for check-in and overnight.
